Foodie
I've eaten here many times over the years and the place has continually spiralled downhill since Simon Jones took over, the staff are rude, stroppy and some are agressive, if you leave messages no one gets back to you, they have kids waitressing and the waitresses also admin the facebook

Very disappointed I visited the high moor for a mothers day treat at 27.95 per head very over priced and over rated . Food under cooked manager very rude with no customer service training waited 90 minutes between starter and main meal and was told this was normal . Fist beet full of blood although I asked well cooked I was then told this is the way it is cooked here nothing we can do now . I asked to talk to the manager who was not very helpful and very rude and told me to phone in the week and talk to the owner . I have since tried to contact the owner and after several phone call's he is not available . DONT WAST YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME !!

I have written a previous report on this establishment, so I feel have have some sort of right to have this report published.
My wife and I were deeply disappointed in our last visit to the High Moor.
The wait, between first and main course, was close to an hour which is totally unacceptable. When the main did arrive, my choice, the rack of lamb, was so over-cooked it was verging on burnt.
The lady Maitre De asked us at the end of the meal if we had enjoyed it and in unison we both said no!
This venue we use for our wedding anniversary and this was our 23rd. We have been visiting the High Moor for many of those 23 and have also brought, and recommended, the High Moor to friends and family. Unless they get their act together, Simon!! then it will be a long time before we revisit.
I asked the Maitre De if the usual chef, Norman, was working that night, and was told he was. Norman, your standards are slipping!
I am quite happy to put my e-mail address here for a retort or questions about this, once fabulous, eatery. Come On Simon!! Even the menu was poor!
The 2Ms
We had our wedding lunch at this beautiful little place which has lovely views. On our special day, Simon and David worked extremely hard to accommodate all our wishes and our family and friends had a marvellous day. The food was wonderful as were the wines and champagne. Whether we have something special to celebrate, we always go there.

We visited the High Moor in Wrightington for my birthday and both loved it. It is full of character with beamed low ceilings but also feels very cosy and romantic with lovely views across countryside. The meal was really lovely I had the lamb rump and my husband had the pork belly. Both delicious and the sticky toffee pudding is lovely! We would recommend a visit.

The whole dining experience at the High Moor is outstanding. My wife and I have visited the majority of the restaurants in the locale and this is by far the best.
Simon the host is enthusiastic about his establishment and sources local produce.
The High Moor delivers the complete dining experience in a warm and comfortable olde worlde setting. There is a very small bar but you are there for the food not the drink. The staff are attentive without being in your face. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Quality all the way. Excellent
