Something which is not clear on here is that this place has just re-opened with Aiden Byrne at the helm - we ate here last night and have to say that whilst the food is sensational - so are the prices! There is a fixed menu at £35 per head but there is a much cheaper lounge menu which they don't offer you unless you ask! Also, even though the prices are high, they are still charging extra for side dishes and supplements for the pricier dishes - £5 extra per head for one of the dishes!
Prices aside (because after all it is still a pub after all..!) - the food is sensational. Our party went for the wing rib of beef for two (£28 per head) which was possibly the best piece of beef either of them had ever eaten - amazing was the only way to describe it!
So, aside from the prices (& the wine also has a very hefty price tag) - the food is superb and the setting is lovely so I would recommend it but won't be going back unless it is for a very special occasion!

Just about the top bar in the Wirral - good food, good music, lovely barstaff and waiting-on staff.... Smashing decor and a divine Mediterranean type garden at the back. What more could you want?

I love this place! It is the most stylish bar and restaurant in the area and has a great patio and garden too. All the staff are very friendly are especially adept at making great cocktails. I always have a good night out there.

I've dined at The Collingwood several times and I always find the food great. They have a nice friendly atmosphere, good service and comfy decor. Highly recommended.

Had a meal here shortly after it opened and can't rate it highly enough. The food was excellent and the and staff in there very professional and welcoming. They decor gives it an air of sophistication aided somewhat by the fantastic cocktail list. Have been back a few times since for tapas and coffees and it has yet to disappoint
