The previously disused Birmingham Eye Hospital is the distinctive location for Hotel Du Vin's largest hotel. The ornate, early Victorian building in the old city centre, now part of the newly revitalised Jewellery Quarter, was sympathetically converted to provide 66 bedrooms and suites around the central courtyard, retaining many original features including the magnificent sweeping staircase and granite pillars. A relaxing haven in the city, the hotel offers the trademark Bistro and Bubble Lounge, private dining for between 12 and 80, a luxurious spa and gym and a newly opened Pub du Vin. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, the Bistro offers a menu rooted in classic European cuisine with a contemporary edge. Here you will find 'simple classics' that change seasonally with head chef Nick Turner adding his own selections daily, all supporting a philosophy of using the finest and freshest local produce, cooked simply, priced sensibly. The extensive and eclectic wine list is a key feature of the hotel. In addition to the main list, including an impressive array by the glass, there is a small daily selection of good-value wines to complement the menu.
