Three times winner of the British Curry Awards, The Best Indian Restaurant in the North West. They have even broken not one but two Guinness World Records, the Tallest Poppadom Tower in the World and the Fastest Tandoor in the World. This restaurant is a fine example of employing a multi cultural work force, contributing to the local community with the eco-friendly initiatives, working hard with local charities and schools promoting diversity and equality, they work harder than the central government lol. They claim there curry is the best in the North West probably the best in the UK and most of us in Tameside KNOW they are the best. Fantastic food, great service and a beautiful place.

Have been to the Indian ocean many times over many years and have recently just been again. The food as always was good, however i do feel that as it's popularity has increased and word of mouth spread, the standard of its service, has decreased, although it was originally a high standard. The last 2 times i have been i have enjoyed the food but been left disappointed by the service. I would still recommend it, as it is still one of the best Indian restaurants in the area.

The waiting area is welcoming to, sometimes with entertainment on at weekends children are most welcome and are well looked after.
the food caters for everybody's pallet and has many choices not to many to confuse you.SO GO AND ENJOY A NIGHT OUT HERE YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

Great place - try the Delhi duck and the lamb shank both fab, but then everything else is as well. This is a wonderful place everything is just right or remedied very quickly. Lovely surroundings friendly attentive staff and great atmosphere but the food is the real star.

We have been going to the Indian Ocean restaurant for years and we have always had an excellent meal. The staff are very friendly and chatty. We have tried many other indian restaurants, but we keep returning to our favourite one.......
My only tiny critisism is the lounge bar.We find it too loud for us-but that does not put us off!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
