Enjoyed a lovely meal recently with a party of over 30 people. The service was excellent as was the food . the staff were friendly and helpful. I will certainly be going again.

My wife and I visited The Italian Job a few weeks ago and it was good that time but feel moved to write about our experience last night as the service was the worst I have ever experienced. They must have had a large function upstairs as waiters were constantly trooping up there with plates of food and that left all of us unfortunate enough to be downstairs with a frankly ridiculously low number of staff available, indeed sometimes there were no memebers of staff in site. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our starter but considered ourselves to be lucky compared to the tables behind us who sat there for about an hour between starter and main courses. People ended up getting up from tables to go to the downstairs bar to complain. At least they did not charge us for coffee and pudding but it was small compensation really for the appalling service. We'll give them one more try though as the food is good and this just might have been a blip, but they need to either have more staff on or start to refuse bookings if they have a big function on and they cannot cope.

I was really disappointed after going for many years. I had a set party menu but chocolate cake wasnt on it - despite having 2 weeks notice and advantage of pre-order they refused to accommodate.
They were argumentative when a friend advised there was hair in her food
I gave 18 deposits before the night. A couple who had just had a young baby wanted to come but did not wish to pay deposits in case they had to back out last minute. I was advised even though 18 deposists had been submitted, if I included these 2 on the final numbers and they did not attend the restaurant would still subtract £10 extra off the final bill
Inflexible and unwilling to accommodate. the food on the party menu was also sub standard. It's a shame as I have been going for years and used to love the place.

Attended the Italian Job on numerous occasions and food has always been highly satisfactory. At weekend upstaits they do a very reasonably priced fixed menu and a disco. Ideal for a birthday or other night out.

Retaurant has an excellent-value lunchtime menu, and setting is pleasant. However, the staff could make more of an effort in my opinion.

A lovely place to eat, the food is gorgeous and the atmosphere is very relaxing, the staff are nice and helpful. It is my favourite restaurant.
