Italio takes its inspiration from over 30 years of Italian dining, living and culture with roots lying deep in the Sicilian region of Palermo and a long history of family run Italian restaurants. The restaurant aims to provide a true modern Italian dining experience presenting the traditional rustic vibrancy of Italy within sleek and elegant surroundings. It opened in October 2014 in what was formerly the HSBC Bank on the corner of Lytham and Highfield Roads in Blackpool’s South Shore. Italio seats 40 inside and another 40 outside in the al fresco Terrace which opened in 2018. Fully heated and insulated but with a retractable glass roof and sides, the Terrace offers year-round al fresco dining and can also be hired for private parties and events. The menu at Italio has been carefully selected to offer a varied selection of some of the many delights of the Mediterranean. All of the dishes are traditional family recipes used in the family restaurants. With the open kitchen and pizza oven, diners are sure to get a show and a true glimpse of Italian cuisine in its full glory. Italio is also very kid-friendly with small portions and small pizzas available and gluten-free options. You can also indulge in an Italian cocktail or a drink from the extensive bar selection and all the tables have ice buckets built in for beer, wine or Greygoose vodka. Italio was awarded Radio Wave's Culture award for best fine dining restaurant.
