We ate at Jacksons last night (19th Feb 2009). We thought the food was very average and overpriced. My husband had the crab cake for starter which was very bland. For mains courses we had steak and seabass which were acceptable but nothing special. The service was poor, when asked if we wanted to see the desert menu, no mention was made to dishes which were not available so after taking ages to decide on a dessert we were then told "Oh we haven't got that" - surely this should be something that should be mentioned at the time of presenting the menu. For £70.00 for a couple, we expected a little better food and service.

This has to be one of my all time favourite places to eat. Friendly, efficient service and most importantly - fabulous food. It's one I'm always happy to recommend to friends, who have never been disappointed. Went there recently as a party of three. We all had different dishes for three courses and every dish was beautifully presented, fresh and tasty. What more do you want from a restaurant? Don't just turn up - book it!

We have been going to Jacksons for 10 years (first place we go to everytime we visit the lakes) It seems to us that the owners have a passion for their Restaurant, and it shows. The same staff have been there for years, which is telling in it's self. The food is really very good and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. Try the specials board, is a treat.

We had a great meal here a month ago. Service was excellent, and the food lovely. The manager ensured each course was to our liking and was very polite. All the staff were polite and served the ladies first - correctly!
