Visited Jintana as a party of four (9 Oct 2009), we had not booked but was assured there would be a table in 5 mins. True to her word and as busy as they were 5 mins later we were warmly greeted and shown to the table. The food was absolutely first class and two of us who quite regularly eat Thai food agreed this was the best tasting Thai food we had ever tasted. The service and friendliness matched the high standard of the food. I would not hesitate going back for a second - unlike the Indian restaurant further down .... but that is a different story lol

My friend celebrated his birthday last week at this restaurant and foods were yummy and very tasty. Price was also reasonable. Very friendly staff. Definitely will go back there again.

Best Thai we've tasted in the UK, not too expensive, friendly attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. Try the mussamun curry with lamb or the Sea Bass with lime and Chilli - Divine!

Encouraged by good reviews we were pleased to be able to get a table at this restaurant. The surroundings were very nice and we looked forward to a pleasant, light, Thai meal. The staff were attentive, welcoming and polite. Having placed our order, however, we were very surprised when it arrived within about five minutes. The waitress informed us that this was because they had four chefs working in the kitchen (a strange comment we thought at the time). Unfortunately the food did not benefit from having too many cooks. A simple noodle dish which should have been fresh, tasty and light was stodgy, with what appeared to be omelette through it. The noodles were sticky and the chicken tepid - there were very few vegetables. We decided not to stay for desert. The only bonus was a very nice bottle of a Thai hibiscus and wine spritzter which can be recommended. Other customers seemed to be enjoying their meals, so I cannot understand what went wrong with ours - possibly a wrong choice, but it takes a seriously bad cook to make such a mess of noodles.

I recently ate at the jintana, to say i was unimpressed would be a gross understatement. The food was bland and tasteless, I also found the staff to be inattentive.

On Holiday, desired a thai meal, sadly disappointed with the quality of the food. improvement required. Very cramped.

We found this place on a busy night in bowness and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. Excellent food, at least just as good as in Thailand, which is rare in england. The decoration of the restaurant was beautiful and really complemented our meal, as did a bottle of Thai wine which is new to us. Definitely worth a visit if your a fan of Thai food and a good place if you haven't had it before and want the authentic taste.

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, the best Thai food this side of Bangkok, great Thai wines, friendly staff. What more do i need to say!

We visited the Jintana for our birthdays on Saturday. We had already booked a table beforehand however on our arrival we were abruptly greeted and shown to our table after about 5 minutes later. We had to ask to order our drinks before waiting another 10 minutes before we were asked if we were ready to order froma waitress who clearly didn't want to be there!
We ordered the £6 per person combination starter expecting it to be mixture of authentic thai food. What arrived was a mixture of 4 different deep fried starters one of which was burnt!. After asking the same miserable waitress to change it it came back 10 minutes later with the offending burnt prawn toast having been replaced but the rest if the starter was stone cold, they hadn't bothered to change the whole dish.
Next came the the main course or should I rephrase this "thrown at us" of chewy unseasoned Pad Thai noodles with 4 rubbery prawns. The green thai curry was better but I have seen bigger sugar bowls. we weren't asked whether the food was satisfactory or whether we needed additional drinks.
Allin all it was a very poor £37.00 worth of non authentic food.
We eat out alot and work and live in Manchester city centre so we know what constitutes good thai food.
If you want a nice meal out in Bowness I would highly recommed Sol Bar & Tapas, the food, service and ambience was second to none!

My husband and I eat our best Thai meal at the Jintana. Food presentation was excellent and the most tastiest thai meal we've ever had. The restaurant was well decorated to a very high standard and there was a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. I just wanted to write to recommend the restaurant to anyone who loves thai food, especially hot and spicey!!! enjoy!!
