I came with my terminally ill Mother as part of a treat for her Birthday, John Lewis was a step up from our usual fare but we thought we would splash out on this special day.We were surprised that the environment was less Restaurant and more cafe and only one till which resulted in a big queue. The food was awful-we chose fish and chips which turned out to be 99% batter which was so hard we couldn’t eat it.£85 for 3 people, we could have gone somewhere with edible food!,this was no treat for Mum and very upsetting for us as we have limited time with her.
Dissapointed
Not impressed at staff stinking her finger into a cake to check if moist! Also no cutlery

Visted the restaurant recently what an awful expereince!! The " restaurant" resembles a 1980s style bus station cafe dirty pots on tables included in the price serving over priced bland out dated food - the cake could have doubled up as a bouncy ball it was so stale and dry!!! served by pompous patronising counter staff (laughable given the enviroment) Zero rating would not recommend.

Do not eat at this restaurant, since they have changed it into a self service style cafe it is awful.
3 of us ate 2x Fish & chips and a Burger and the quality of food was terrible.
We used to eat there all the time but never again.

This was so busy this afternoon when a girlfriend and I dined. We waited for about 3mins to be seated, which was fine as they had a huge queue, which wasn? surprising as its fantastic place to do lunch. The staff are friendly and ive been a few times now, always great friendly service with an easy to understand menu. My friend had the Brasserie burger, which was huge and came with the most chunkiest chips ive ever seen if you go you must try one! Their wine list is super the cape grace Sav Blanc washes that lunch down perfectly! Go treat yourself to a space where you can relax while shopping at the Trafford centre!

The Brasserie at John Lewis is fantastic. I eat here with my friend for valentines evening and was treated to an excellent 3 course meal. The service was outstanding down to earth and friendly. Having just finished shopping in the Trafford centre for hours with my partner, we wanted something to eat and came across the brassiere at John Lewis. At first I wasn? going to bother but im very glad I did. The menu was simple with hot sandwiches and even a large range of main courses. They even had a wine list, so we sat down and was served be a lovely blond haired girl who was only to pleased to take our order. Myself ordered the slow cooked beef with a side order of rocket salad; my partner chose the pork, which he ordered medium. To my delight we had champagne, which was very under priced at £30 for Veuve. The food arrived after about 15mins and tasted great! I was shocked to say the least as this was a brassiere in a department store. But it was super the foodservice and even the window tables. Please go and see what you are missing as you wont be disappointed Susan
