I first went to the Kashmir when I was 18, I'm 68 now and still going whenever I visit Bradford - a 50-year love affair with the place and the standard of its meals. I especially love their Meat Madras. What more can I say? Forget all the fancy duded up Asian restaurants in Bradford, get down to the basement at the Kash and discover what a good curry is really all about!

£0.90 onion bahjis
£1.00 mushroom bahjis
superb flavour and plenty on the plate
curry around £4.00 (3 free chapati's)
spiced just right..
basic decor and they forget the cutlery sometimes but a 'must visit' place when in Bradford. 20 years of going and no food poisoning what a result

the food is spot on.I travel to bradford just for kasmir curry. The Roti is the best i have eaten and i have eat in loads of Indians.I agree with one previous comment the food is slightly better cooked for some strange reason when you sit downstairs.I still LOVE it.

Long may the Kash reign. It's not the most sophisticated food, service or ambience in the world but by 'eck they're fantastic at what they do. Somehow after a plate of their seekh kebabs, a Kashmir mix special, a few of the best chapatis in the world and half a jug of lassi the troubles of the world evaporate completely.
It's been pretty much the same in the 20 years I've been visiting Bradford, and I hope it remains fundamentally unchanged for the next 20. There's always a place for utterly honest, unpretentious food served in huge quantities at bargain prices.

I had my first ever curry at the Kash in 1972 - it was brilliant then and is still brilliant. Good unpretentious food for a ridiculously low price. I particularly love the veggie curries, which can so often be a bit of a disappointment. Don't let the building put you off - yes, it's basic, but it's clean, and the food is so much better than you'll expect. You'll find a mixed clientele too, from families to business people. Service is efficient too.
Kashmir
low - key , laid - back but basic curries carry real spiciness. Cutlery extra. Bring own drinks. Seems to be better downstairs at lunchtime than upstairs in evening. Excelent shish kebabs. Nans are very good. Good honest fare.
Kashmir
The oldest curry house in west yorkshire, it has been around since the1950s. This in itself says something about its reputation. But the reason why its lasted so long is definitely the food, as i found out. Brilliant curries at very cheap prices and the dining experience overall is excellent. I have to give this place 11 out of 10, adding one extra point for it being right near the Alhambra theatre!
