My husband and I eat out a lot but never have
we came across a restaurant like the Kisii.
We have been going there since it opened and
never had a bad meal. Good fresh ingredient's cooked to a high standard with different receipts. So different from all
other restaurants and with the personal touch from a family which cares and always puts its customers first is very special.

Very rich good food cooked by a Kenyan-asian family with a lot of african influence. Feels like home. Tell them to go easy on the oil....

I have visited Kissii around six times in two years and I'm always very impressed. I eat out at Indian restaurants about once every two/three weeks and Kissii being African/Indian is completely different. It's a genuine family business. The owner takes everyone's order himself and is clearly proud of his restaurant. Everything is cooked to order so waiting between courses is inevitable but worth it. Everyone I've ever taken to this place has then took other friends the next week. I asked the owner why he doesn't advertise or have a website and he said he prefers personal recommendation. Anyone thinking of going remember it's on the sea side of Whitley Bay metro Station and part of it, opposite old phone box. they keep the door closed so it's even hard to find! My favourites are: casava wedges to start, Minced lamb with chicken rice (I'm greedy)accompanied by Bakturah (probably not the right spelling but it's different from chapatis or naans and very nice
