The BEST restaurant in South Wales! Couldn't ask for better service and hospitality! Can't wait to go back!

La Lupa caters for quality over quantity. If you want to eat quickly and leave as soon as possible then this is not the place for you to go in the evenings - especially on a weekend.
The owner, Roberto will most likely be your chef for the night and all his food is cooked to perfection! Just because La Lupa is an Italian restaurant don't think you're limited to Pasta and/or Pizza. Try the delicious Sea Bass servers in a variety of mouth water sauces... or plain, if you prefer it that way. Are you a meat eater? The steaks rival that of most stake houses and the sauces that you can chose from are all so very different you'll be beyond spoiled for choice. The rack of lamb is also most wonderful.
The Pizza rivals that of those in Italy, even though it is not cooked in a stone based oven... if it were, I can quite honestly say it would probably be the best pizza, the toppings melt into the thin crust and when you bite into the centre it's an explosion of taste in the mouth which leads into the crispy outer edges of the pizza. The pasta is also most wonderful, all the pasta is fresh and each sauce is made from scratch, this allows for full customization if you so wish; Like the sound of the Lasagnette Lupa? But don't want Pine Cernals? Not a problem, easily enough made without.
Most the deserts are home made, the Tiramisu here is the best I have ever, ever tasted - no overpowering coffee taste but a rich creamy flavour. And the Cassata, a recipe passed down through the an Italian family that works in La Lupa, blends Ricotta cheese, chocolate chips and orange peel into an exquisite mix, just perfect with a small touch of cream.
The staff are very hard working and will do their best to entertain everyone, the atmosphere is a social one and they will often take a moment to talk to the customers, they also seem to have the ability to home in on what you may or not want - sure you're done after the main course? What about a nice brandy to help it go down? Or a liquor coffee? They aim to give the most enjoyable evening possible and though at times - on weekends it's clear to see they are all rushed off their feet.
The only downside to La Lupa is the waiting times on weekends, because all the food is cooked fresh it can take a while for it to be prepared - if you're in the queue behind a party table you will be waiting for your food for quite a bit... but if you are in no rush, it's perfect for enjoying a nice conversation and a drink and if you really must eat, the bread made on site is the best I have ever tasted, try it out.
