We've used Lal Quila for nights out and take-aways for years, but after tonight won't go back. If the experience is as important as the food to you, you may be left with a bad taste in your mouth. The staff are temperamental and often rude. Have a look at their reviews - they're very mixed. It's paid pot-luck!

The food at Lal Qila in Cramlington is excellent. The service is terrible. You wait for ages to be served, the staff are arrogant and rude and it is quite expensive.

Excellent food - horrible staff. Sums this restaurant up. Real shame to be honest cause the food is so good, you would go often im sure.

Great food but incredibly poor service.
based on food this place punched well above its weight with Tyneside good eateries. (not in the same league as Sachins).
But really shows its naivety (being polite - or is at arrogance) regarding customer service.
if all is well you'll love it - if not you'll be disappointed. No middle ground.

The food is always good, but the service is poor. If you want friendly service go somewhere else. If you are a group of lads drinking they will make you wait for over an hour for your food so you drink more. The waiters have all the charisma of a contraflow system and always 'expect' a large tip for piss poor service.
mmmfood!
Lal Quila is a very nice place to eat out. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff very polite. The food is mouth-watering and would recommend it to anybody, even those who do not like spicy food, the korma is amazing
