i have been going to latifs restaurant for almost 8 years! The food is great and hasn't dispointed me yet, The staff are very kind and Mr Latif himself is such a loving man he is a wonderful person, Also Mr.latifs sons are waiters at the restaurant They are such nice kind people,
The place can be quiet at times but i usually go with my friends or my dad, it doesn't matter if the place is quiet because the staff are have really good funny banter. I think i will be attending this restaurant for the rest of my life

Can't really comment on the food as we didn't actually get any! We were made to wait 15 minutes in an empty bar before our drinks order was taken, shown to what can only be described as a conference style table for 30 - there was 6 of us so we refused it and, the icing on the cake, sat for over an hour without any contact from any member of staff observing other diners who had arrived after us, being served their food. We should have known when the table to our left cheered as their rice arrived, that this was going to be an experience. They had received their main course 30 minutes earlier and had been repeatedly asking for the accompaniments. After over an hour we decided to leave. My husband was manhandled back into the dining room and the waiting staff tried to physically sit us back down. They told us the starters were coming but we tried to politely tell them it was too late and we were leaving. They actually barred the doors! We paid for the one round of drinks we had barely touched and were finally allowed to leave! If it hadn't been so scary it would have been comical. At no point did anyone say sorry which at the very least is a disgrace. We walked to Stowell Street, went to the Landmark where we were greeted like old friends, impeccably served and well fed. I will never enter Latif restaurant again and nor will anyone I know! Bad on all levels.

Superb restaurant, quality of food is of the highest standard, I've yet to find a better Indians in Newcastle! First class service with little interruption to enjoy your meal! Fantastic value for money, they also deliver with discounts on menu prices!!! Tables always available for any sized party, excellent cleanliness throughout and the house wine is very good too!! This really is Newcastles best kept secret! I can not rate this restaurant highly enough! Not to be missed!

Went for a Friday night 'romantic' meal, only to find the place totally empty. This made for a bit of an awkward atmosphere, although it's not something that Latif's can be directly blamed for. The food was exquisite, but ruined by some sarcastic and abrupt service. Indeed, when we ordered two Mango Lassie? for dessert, we were greeted with surprise and distain - despite it being on their dessert menu. Overall, it was a real shame, because (although pricey) the food was up there with the best Indian? in Newcastle.

I have ate my Indians from Latif's for 18 years, (I was previously a customer of the Al-Helal whilst under Mr. Latif's ownership). I must say I can't eat curry from anywhere else....
The staff and family that work there are excellent and always have a good chat with me when I go, not many waiting staff have as good a personality as these!

Went fairly late at night and the place was empty. Sitting in a massive dining room with no other table taken is never great so the ambience here was pretty torrid. The food was average in quality and the meat dishes were more bland sauce than meat. Service was good, fast and polite and the waiter knew when to leave us alone to eat which is a good thing. Maybe better when full earlier in the evening than later at night.
