Took my father in law here for a Sunday lunch treat. This pub has in the past had an excellent reputation. We were very disappointed.
We were the first to order food, and were told that there were no chicken dishes as 'they had run out of chicken'!! The next people to order had chicken. The steak meals we ordered were reminders of 60's pub food. The steak was tough, and the whole dish lacked imagination.
To add insult to injury, having finished our main course, the sweet took an hour to arrive, and the most preparation required was 5 minutes in the microwave!
This lunch cost around £20/head - no wine included.
The staff were very pleasant, the surroundings were dowdy and desperately in need of redecorating.
