I stopped off the A30 for lunch, the manor house is beautiful, full of fine art and antiques, the staff were very friendly and professional, the set 3 course lunch was £19 I had a pre-starter spicy tomato soup, then a fantastic pork terrine with celeriac remoulade and walnut salad, a surprise intermediate course hinted to the more dramatic evening menu and was an assiette of tuna, tuna served in three ways; Nicoise, mousse with orange and peppered and seared with creme fraiche- really good! my main was pan fried Pollock with chorizo. I couldn't manage a pud. I took refuge in the lounge in front of a crackling fire to recover.
