Pizzeria Mamma Mia is a traditional family run Italian restaurant. The menu boasts a choice of 22 pizzas and 42 main courses not including the daily specials boards. Amongst a selection of well-known favourites there are more unusual dishes such as Gnochetti al ragu e pecorino, a Sardinian-style pasta with meat and sheep's cheese and Scampi Cleopatra - described as Mario's speciality dish for the last decade. Expect a warm welcoming atmosphere, freshly prepared food and service with a personal touch. For Italian wine lovers the wine offering has reds and whites from across Italy including fragrant Sicilian and Sardinian whites and bold Tuscan reds to complement your meal. always very good service at this restaurant anytime midweek week-ends food is cooked fresh anything from their menu is cooked especially for you, waiters are very friendly and add to the atmosphere of this charming restaurant, I cannot praise the food and how it is cooked and served enough you must try it, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited here with my Mum.It was best pizza I've had for a long time, we used to come here over 10 years ago as a family it is just as good now as it was then.Service attentive and friendly with fantastic food great, we wont leave it so long next time.

Mamma Mia is one of my favourite restaurants. Not once have i had a bad meal here and we eat here most weeks. The food is always good, excellent when Mario is in the kitchen. I love the service and the fact that it is the owners son who is waiting on. It really feels like an Italian family restaurant experience. The wine is excellent, especially the Cannonau (which is hard to come by in other restaurants). All in all Mamma Mia's is a wonderful experience and highly recommended. Mario's steak cannot be surpassed!

Celebrated our engagement some 28 years when Mario and Rebecca first opened. Always high standard of food and wine. Excellent service even when busy. Very good value for money. One of a few in Southport to last, perhaps reflects how people and footballers feel about it.

Visited Wednesday night for my mothers birthday. Excellent service, excellent food and immaculate interior. The steak was the best I have ever tasted, one of our party asked for a pasta dish that wasn't on the menu which they made no questions asked and it was the best they had ever tasted, the lasagna came in an earthenware dish piping hot straight from the oven and again there was no complaints here it was outstanding. Will visit again when ever possible

I found the service at lunchtime very poor, one hassled looking waiter serving between lunch & dinner periods. The food was decidedly average.

Me and my partner were extremely disappointed with the service received this particular night at this restaurant. When we arrived the place was almost empty and we went and sat upstairs. Towards the end of our meal 1 member of staff cept coming to see if we had finished and we felt as though we had to rush our meal. To our dismay, as if we weren't hurrying enough, this member of staff ended up switching the lights off on us! Needless to say we never returned to this restaurant again. Clearly this guy had no customer service skills or had simply had a very bad day!

Mamma Mia's Pizzeria is a pleasure to visit. The food is consistent on every occasion. The staff are friendly and efficient. Value for money is absolutely brilliant and I recommend it highly.
