What a wonderful restaurant, with the best customer service I have seen for a long time. The best south Indian food I have had, freshly and beautifully cooked and when I asked for a Lassi, I was informed that it was the season for Mango and given a fabulous mango Lassi and then after the meal, a chopped mango to taste. What thoughtful people and they teach you how to make the food as well. Heaven! thank you.

Although neither myself nor my husband are vegetarian we both love the food at Mango and feel that it is well worth the drive over to Wetherby from Leeds. The food is always delicious whatever you choose and, because it is made to order, can be tailored in terms of heat. A very enjoyable dining experience which feels quite intimate because of the size of the restaurant and the friendliness of the service.

My wife and I went to Mango following a recommendation from a friend. Neither of us is vegetarian but this did not matter in the slightest as the food is simply great - you know itβs been cooked to order, with the freshest of ingredients, by a chef who is very accomplished in their trade.
For starters we had a mixed selection to share, this was very tasty with a nice balance of flavours; however, the Dhokra was fantastic, I've never had anything like it - it's a must! For my main course I opted for the Masala Dosa; this is a dryish curry of potatoes, cauliflower and onions all wrapped in a pancake β it was delicious. My wife, had the Aurro, which is a curry with aubergine as one of its main ingredients; now I don't like aubergine all that much, but I have to say it was lovely. For afters I went for the Kulfi, an Indian ice-cream; this one was flavoured with rose and strawberry and complimented my previous courses very well, but Catherine out did me with the Shirkhand. Who'd of thought that a humble yogurt could be so stunning!
The restaurant is a family run business, which has only been going for 3 years but seems like it has been going for longer β as was the quality of the food and service. Thankfully the mother was persuaded that her cooking was good that she had to open a restaurant and share her food outside of the family. She knows her way around Indian spices and the flavours she cooks up are incredible. I can't wait for our next meal there.

My Dad and I stopped for bite to eat at this restaurant on our way from London to the Lakes. I'm a vegan, and we only found out about the restaurant through the Happy Cow website. We stumbled upon a diamond. The food was faultlessly magnificent, the menu presented an extensive range of vegan options, and because at the time we were the only guests we had the undivided attention of the waiter, who was the daughter of the chef (who we met later on). Whilst it was extremely fortunate for us to have the hosts all to ourselves, there can be no question that they deserved far more custom. At the end of the meal I asked the waiter tentatively if she would give me the recipe for the delicious main course I'd eaten - I was actually joking; I didn't expect for a moment she would give it to me, but to my surprise and delight she hand wrote the ingredients and the entire method and then gave it to me.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough. If you live in Wetherby (or even Leeds) or if you're just passing by on the A1, stop by and indulge yourself in some of the most sumptuous Indian food you'll ever get the chance to taste.

I am a vegetarian with a lot of food allergies so dining out can sometimes be tricky. At Mango, it couldn't have been easier. Everything is marked on the menu clearly and the owner was only too happy to accommodate all my special requests. Add to that the fact that the food was absolutely divine and you know you have struck gold.
Everything tasted fresh and we knew it had been cooked to order.
I just can't wait for all the bad weather to clear so I can make the drive across from Leeds more easily and more frequently. I will certainly be going back...again...and again...and again!

We came across Mango Vegetarian not long after it opened while expecting to find their predecessors. We have not eaten anywhere else in Wetherby since. We are not vegetarian, but that is irrelevant as the food is so delicious. We do not live in, or even near, Wetherby but try to plan our journeys south from, or north to, Durham to arrive in Wetherby for lunchtime. (We are trying to think of a way to be in Wetherby in the evening so we can try a meal in the restaurant! The menu looks so tempting.) Our favourite lunch is the Mango Special Wrap, but I'm planning to work my way through the menu. Do try a cup of the Masala Chai, really the best drink to complement the excellent freshly cooked and deliciously spiced food. The kitchen is open so you can watch your meal being prepared. The family running Mango are so friendly and helpful. If you are unsure about what to choose from the menu all you have to do is ask and you will receive good advice. Ask about the decor in the place too! All in all we would highly recommend Mango even if you have to make a special trip to get there.

I was treated to a lunch here by a friend. I have to say it was the best vegetarian food I had ever eaten. The food was cooked by "Mum" and served by a daughter. It was so unusual and so beautifully served and full of flavour. I just wished that I lived nearer - but I will be back. congratulations to the family as it was not the usual Indian food and so delicious. Thank you.

I live in Wetherby and have been a vegetarian for over 40 years so it is lovely having a vegetarian restaurant and cafe in the town. The South Indian menu is excellent and the food is not too hot but really tasty and never greasy. The owner and the waitresses are always really helpful and guide you through the menu to advise you on the different choices. A new menu came out mid October 2010, so if you have never been to Mangos, now is the time to try it. There is a special Christmas menu which sounds delicious.

My partner and I are always looking for vegetarian restaurants in the west Yorkshire area as there are not very many.We went on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has very simple decor which is really calming. The owner is really friendly and helpful as he explains what the menu consists of.The food is excellent and reasonably priced. We loved all the food we had, they also have non alcoholic beers, useful as we travelled from Otley. The food has a very subtle spicy flavour,is not greasy and has amazing combinations of spices, flavours. We would definitely return and with friends who are not sure what vegetarians eat !
