About Mario’s Pizzeria Ristorante

Mario’s is nothing short of a Bacup institution. Chef-patron Mario has been at the helm of this traditional Italian restaurant for 35 years and it’s been in its current location on Market Street for a quarter century! Mario hails originally from the Adriatic port city of Pescara so no surprise that fish features prominently on the menu. He also trained as a butcher before leaving for England aged 18 so you can expect top-quality mains – based on the best locally sourced produce – alongside plenty of pizza, pasta and risotto options on the a la carte menu. Popular choices include the Italian-style spare ribs to start and the King prawn linguine. There’s also a special midweek three-course meal deal.

I have never been to Mario’s before, in fact I didn’t even know it existed! I’ve been missing out. Absolutely amazing king prawn linguine and such a great sized portion. My friends food looked equally delicious. The service was fabulous and the staff friendly. I’ll definitely be making a return visit. Also the perfect location if you’re going to the theatre. We ate here last night 20th July 2024. The service was excellent, Mario kept coming to the table to see how our meal was and to keep us informed on the progress. The staff were very polite. The meal was delicious. This was the second time we have been here, we bought another couple with us who hadn’t eaten here before. No complaints from us, will defo be back.
