We've eaten at the Maypole fairly regularly for the past couple of years and it's a popular venue for both locals and visitors to the pretty village of Warley.Tuesdays is pie and a pint night and last night I had cauliflower and blue cheese pasty with salad on the side. The salad wasn't part of the special offer but they were happy to oblige. The pasty filling was generous and flavoursome and the puff pastry was light and buttery. My OH had steak, ale and potato pie with a shortcrust lid with chips on the side along with mushy peas served in a little pot. The pie filling, pastry and hand cut chips were all homemade.I had a glass of house dry white with my meal and my OH had his manly pint. The staff are always attentive regardless of whether it's your first visit or you're a regular.Sister pub to the Stump Cross Inn and well worth a visit if you're not already in on the secret.

New manager (for about the 7th time in 3 years!) and a total refurbishment - hopefully this arrangement stays as it is for a long time to come, because it really is a step up! Great food, good beer (T Taylors and Black Sheep last time I looked), classy decor and a great location - all served up by cheerful, friendly hardworking young staff. Fingers crossed this new team stay the distance...

Tired interior and tired looking owner staff nice but owner or manager has false facade food ok on specials-main menu bland in my opinion

There's new blood at the Maypole in the guise of the lovely Angela and it clearly shows. We are going this evening for their curry night and have had several meals there since the new chef has taken over.
The pub serves traditional food alongside dishes such a cajun chicken salad and there's always a pie of the day as well as a good range of specials.
There's a decent ale selection and a thoughtful wine choice unlike a lot of pubs in the area and it's obvious that customer service is Angela's key priority. Worth a visit.

We received a warm welcome and and had three real ales to choose from - the Copper Dragon Golden Pippin was especially good. Lovely patio to enjoy on a warm summer's evening. Keen new owner and her chef will surely put it on the map again after being closed/unsettled for a while.

Eaten at this lovely traditional pub a few times and always had a good meal. Went last week and new chef has improved menu and quality of meals. If you like great pub food this place is must. Good beer garden too. Service is informal and friendly.
