in my experience in restaurant world , the Medici venue has been a school and also (at a certain point) the very best restaurant in the world...you can not beleive the fine class, in its humble hard based work ...it's sad to see some bad review..but i'm sure there are an infinity of happy good memories..Medici have experienced very fine cuisine for long time...also a dynamic and fantastic service...and beleive me or not, sometimes it has been like live in a miracle...in 25 years of restaurant experience, I can surely declare it...there was some bad time too...don't get me wrong ..I can see it...anyhow hope the best can happen to all of you..

Had a very poor meal and service on 20 July 2012. Disappointed as staff could not care less! Will not be going again. Was a fairly regular customer.

I was wary about going to Medici after reading various bad reviews, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. A beautiful setting, delicious food and helpful staff made our visit enjoyable. The food was reasonably priced, portion sizes were good and came piping hot as well as being well presented. Definitely a place I will visit again.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Great food-staff are very friendly.Situated in a lovely place, the decor is very classy! and love the water fountain outside. I always use this restaurant when i have a special occasion. And planning to use it again in the near future.

My twin brother booked this for our 40th birthday meal for us and friends, he has recently relocated up to Hull for business and was told that this was one of the best restaurants in the area. I know we come from London and are used to nice restaurants but I cannot warn you enough of the poor service at this place. It was a Sunday night and not busy but still nobody opens doors for you, you are left to your own devices to go to the 'bar' and you have to ferry your drinks to your table yourself…. When ordering £30 bottles of wine I do expect the staff to know if it is a red or a white and also actually deliver it to the table rather than 3 of them standing around chatting and saying its 'self service'. Shocking! We were then led into the restaurant where 3 pub tables had been pushed together in what felt like the entrance. No tables cloths or linen napkins and not enough bread, no butter and they didn't know what balsamic vinegar was?! My prawn starter was from a freezer, the steaks were done perfectly (the only good thing about this experience) but the puddings were also frozen (with pictures on the menu!) and with canned squirty cream. Completely indifferent, insincere service and a bill for £400 for a party of 9 with only 3 bottles of wine. I will be writing to urge them to get better staff who actually care if you have a good evening and not stood gossiping in a corner because a Hull football player is there!

I have often been sceptical about reviews but having visited Medici several times this year, they have never failed to deliver. So I thought for once I would write my own comments. Set in a beautiful mansion hall the decor, service and ambience is only out classed by the quality of the food. In addition to a superb menu the restaurant provides local and seasonal dishes on its special board with many dishes being worthy of a place in any top London venue. First class ingredients, cooked fresh and to order, presented as you would expect from a first class restaurant. Well worth any recommendation. Try it book make sure you book well in advance.

A group of us Visited Medici on saturday 9th August to celebrate my daughters birthday. Food and Service the best i have had in quite a long time, it was excellent from the moment we arrived. It was well worth travelling over the bridge for. My first visit but definitely not my last.

Medici restaurant is a hidden gem!!! It belongs in London or at least in a big city where it would have people queuing down the street, seven days of the week!!
It offers an extensive menu boasting everything from excellent Italian pizza to michelin star quality dishes.
Whats so great about Medici is that you can take your kids for a discounted quick bite( before 7pm) or bring your boss/company director to impress whilst dining in a sophisticated yet warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The local residents need to appreciate how lucky they are having such a restaurant on their doorstep.
By far one of the best restaurants in Yorkshire.
Take my advice and go. you wont be sorry!!!
