Open since 1998 serving authentic Thai food to eat in or takeaway, Mews Thai restaurant in Poulton offers diners a choice of Western and Thai-style low level seating.
Mews Thai enjoys a delightful location on a quiet alleyway right behind Poulton's parish church. This former cafe was one of the Fylde Coast's first Thai restaurants and opened back in 1998 after the owner returned from 12 years living and working in Asia. An upstairs extension was added in 2001 and today Mews Thai can accommodate 40 diners on each floor with a bar on each and an outside balcony for smokers. The most popular tables are upstairs with traditional Thai-style low-level seating, large windows and a great view out over the churchyard. Mews Thai is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5.30pm until late (closed Mondays except during December) and parking nearby is free after 6pm. Weekend specials are now available in addition to the main menu and there is a takeaway service which can be delivered by taxi with 20% off the fare. Mews Thai was awarded 5 stars in the 2011 Food Hygiene Ratings.

We went to Mews Thai last Thursday as they had a music night upstairs, a girl called Caroline entertained as we ate what I thought was really really good food..... It was one of the best nights I've ever had in a restaurant. Yummy food and first class entertainment. Highly recommended! :-D

Four of us that had previously visited Thailand ourselves went last night to Muse Thai restaurant. We all decided to get the set menu at £15.95 each. This provided a great choice and more than enough for all four of us to share. We were sat on the traditional Thai tables next to the window overlooking the church. Although a little unusual at first, this added to the experience and we had a great night. Our bill came to around £85 after drinks were added. We would highly recommend going here, both the food and atmosphere were great!

John and I visited for the first time 29 Jan 2013 and found it to be very much in the thai characterful and welcoming. The food service was of the highest standard freshly prepared and presented by friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend all to visit.
It may take some finding hidden behind St Chads Church haply known as the Mews but a must to locate.

I don't often write reviews however after visiting Mews last night I feel compelled to tell anyone and everyone about my experience. A large group of colleagues and I (10+) arrived to be greeted by very friendly staff. The service was impeccable and prompt (without being rushed). A number of the party ordered from the set menu, however I ordered from the standard menu. The portions are very generous and very reasonably priced. I ordered the Thai dumplings in garlic and chilli sauce to start, I was served 8 or so large dumplings with a beautiful light dressing I then opted for the chicken in chilli oil with some soft noodles which were DIVINE!! As we were a large party, we did share a lot of the different meals, I was lucky enough to try pad Thai, Thai green curry, Siamese chicken along with a few others, all of the dishes made you want to keep eating til you burst.
The bill in total was around the £150 mark, not bad considering all 10 of us had 2 courses each.
All in all I was very impressed with this restaurant and I am now thinking of excuses to go back ASAP. I will be recommending to all my friends, family and maybe strangers in the street.
AMAZING!!!!

My mother asked if we could all go as a family for a Thai meal for her 60th and Mews came highly recommended by friends and work colleagues... I can only urge you to try this quaint little restaurant in it's hidey-hole location for yourselves. An extensive menu catering to all tastes and a welcoming, friendly ambience made for a lovely evening with the excellent food being the focal point. Dishes were sampled by all and my Ahan talai nam makhram (Crab claws with crunchy vegetables in a tamarind based sauce) was divine. The staff appeared to be genuinely happy to help and advise the less seasoned diners amongst our party and even allowed us access through the kitchens tro avoid my mother spying her beautiful birthday cake to early on in the evening. Great food, great staff, great location... give it a try asap.

I took my wife into the Mews for a nice romantic meal and we were very disappointed , the service we received was in no other word but ignorant, and obnoxious. The food was JUST about average, the only smile we received during the whole night was when we paid, we will never be setting foot inside this back street restaurant again !!!

My wife and I ordered a takeaway (from Mews Thai) recently that included Beef with Sweet Basil but when we got it home we found that there was no Sweet Basil in it. We thought it was a one-off and ordered another takeaway a week later that included the same dish. We mentioned the fact that there was no Sweet Basil in the previous week's meal and they said that it came from Singapore and did not always arrive in time. So they had known that they did not have any but let us order it anyway. So as we collected the latest takeaway they assured us that Sweet Basil was included. But, again, when we got home we found that there was none. This place has really gone downhill lately. Go to Suda Thai in Carleton instead (the chef used to work at the Mews). Nicer staff, better food and cheaper prices.
