Absolutely love Monkman's. Been many times and recently had a lovely birthday lunch there. My favourite place to eat in Ilkley.

Tried out the early bird menu for a friend's birthday. A little unimaginative and the dessert was dull (cheesecake made with jam) but the soup and chicken were delicious.

Ok, so its small and a little cramped. But the soft shell crab I had was delicious. This would be a fantastic place to have on your doorstep. Hope the residents of Ilkley support this venture and the adjoining fish shop.

Food was good but the room was narrow and the walls felt very close (it was two table width). My choice for lunch but not an evening meal.(Each to his/her own!) Staff attentive and very helpful. Does serve good food - even oysters!
