We have only been to mother india once, a few weeks ago, we found the food very poor, the interior very shabby and the service awful. Not only were we given the wrong food but it was also very bland & cold. We wont be returning.

A traditional Indian restaurant that consistently provides first class food and service in an area of Birmingham which is becoming a fast growing "Balti-belt" The waiters are friendly but sometimes border on being a nuisance if they get to know you as a regular, however this little blip is greatly overshadowed by the excellent quality of the food. Its a bring a bottle restaurant which is always a plus.

I love Mother India! It's one of those Indian Restaurants that hasn't sold out. You won't find any stainless steel furniture, magnolia paint or wooden floors here! It's not all flock wallpaper and red shagpile either but its certainly more traditional. the atmosphere is very friendly and it's perfect for a mid-week treat or a weekend nosh (but book for the weekend as it gets VERY busy). The service is very good and the waiters try hard to please. Children are made to feel very welcome. They may even get offered a lollipop at the end of the meal. The menu is very traditional with all the usual favourites and the owner, Jonal, is more than happy to help you with your order. I have been going to this restaurant regularly for years and have never had a bad experience. I have had a couple of occasions when things weren't exactly right (nobody's always perfect eh?) but the staff were always happy to bring a replacement and you can't say fairer than that! All in all, a lovely restaurant. They even put your leftovers in a doggy bag to take home!
