Sadly a disastrous end to a fantastic father’s day. We should have known when we were forced to ask for a menu after 15 minutes that there was a service problem. Prior to this the poppadums and dips were virtually thrown at the table by the waiter after he had fumbled his way through our drinks order. Thirty minutes in we had finally ordered our meal, with the express request that the meals for our 2 and 4 year children come as soon as possible as it was now 6 pm. About 1 and 15 minutes in the starter arrives, all is good if not a little on edge how long does it take to fry a bit of onion into a ball shape, and dip a cube of chicken into spice and cook it? Ohh hang missing chicken nuggets and chips for the children! Virtually called liars we are told we never made this request. It looked like the meal was then cooked by the delivery driver in his jeans and t-shirt! Turned out he was the delivery driver. In house entertainment on the very next table, Involving some drunken chap wandering in off the street and eating the scraps from previous customer; he had obviously eaten here before and was fully aware of the service issues! We had to clear our own table onto another one which had just been left, other customers followed suit leading to scrap pile in the middle of the restaurant.Around two and a half hours in we had a main course, food was fine, we were not and the whole meal was consumed by very hungry and angry family not a pleasant end to the day.Ordering drinks was ridiculously hard as they never appeared on multiple occasions result was going to the bar yourself. The place was sweltering and sat in orange darkness as it appears they don’t know how to replace a light bulb! or there is something they don't want you to see.We heard other families complaining and threatening to walk out which ultimately happened, at one point I heard the manager threatening to sue a fellow customer if she left. When we were done we told the manager of the restaurant we were unhappy with the service we didn’t want a free meal and we were going to pay, but we wanted an apology. Which lead to him, squirming and blaming his customers for the lack of staff. We recommend he tell customers there is a delay in service. Which we were then told he had done, btw this had never spoken to us all night and now realise we were avoided. We were then told we could leave and don’t have to go back. Bad management, dire service, reputation destroyed in one evening! Thanks to the delivery driver who arrange the children’s meal so fast, not sure if you have the required food hygiene certs to be in the kitchen but hey! Will avoid forever.

The Restaurant itself is very good food is great and staff friendly enough. I have been going here for over 20 years and decided to have a bit of a do for my 4oth on a sunday evening at their buffet which was advertised in the window on the menus and website. we checked on friday that they could reserve some tables for us on the following sunday when we arrive they had taken down the sign which was on one of the tables in the restaurant as it had only just been taken down and said they were no longer doing the buffet. there was 23 of us 13 adults 8 kids by their prices the food should have been around £150 they expected us to pay for full price for meals, this I suspect was a tactic to get more money out of us. we came to some arrangement but the final price still came to more than it should by about £100 quid without drinks
very felt very let down and not going back.

We ate here this evening. It was lovely and excelled our expectations given the location. The food was really nice, no complaints whatsoever. The kitchen is visible from the restaurant and it's always reassuring when you can watch your food being prepared. The best thing about the new far pavilion by far, is the staff - exceptional service, polite, non-intrusive conversation and extremely attentive. We will be returning for a local, good value, enjoyable night out.

Been going for years as we live in Swinton, last time was a few months ago and it was great as always. Went today (Sept 2012) and it was appalling. Stale popadoms, day old salad, not fried but napalmed starters, decent main but then they brought the wrong drinks out...twice. It's REALLY changed there and definitely not for the better. Should have guessed as it was empty at 7.30 on a Sunday evening. Never again, gutted!

Been to this restaurant a few times and always had lovely food and great service and at a reasonable price. Staff are so welcoming and friendly and not too over the top. Definitely be going again very soon.

I have been eating at this restaurant since I moved to Manchester 12 years now. I thoroughly recommend, staff are polite and the food is excellent. Tandoori lamb chops are my fave and Tarka Dhal is wonderful. Tried Rusholme and nothing there compares. Always clean and tidy and will continue to support this amazing venue.

Been going to the Far Pav for years and will continue to keep going. Nothing is to much trouble. Staff always helpful, happy and polite. If you have never been, go.
