Fresh from Honolulu to Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Oké Poké specializes in Hawaiian street food. Poké (pronounced poh-kay) translates as ‘chunk’ and is a traditional street food that provides a unique and healthy alternative to Western fast food. Rather like a deconstructed sushi bowl, it combines diced raw fish, vegetables and various ‘mix-ins’ and is served either in a Poké Bowl or inside a burrito (a Pokérito). You can choose from one of five set combinations or build your own Poké adding base, protein, toppings, garnish and sauce. The Classic Ahi comes with sushi rice, tuna, avocado, carrot, wakame, cucumber, spring onion, sesame seeds and classic soy, ginger and garlic sauce. Eat in or take out and you can wash it all down as well with fresh juice, protein shakes, smoothies or infusions. Oké Poké is open from 11.30am to 9pm, Monday-Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.
