About Outgate Inn
Situated in the tiny hamlet of Outgate, between Hawkshead and Lake Windermere, the historic Outgate Inn has been open for business as a hostelry since 1841. In its current guise it offers a good selection of traditional pub food and Robinsons ales and is open every day from 12 noon until 10pm. There is a bar, dining area and snug as well as a beer garden and food is served at lunch and dinner during the week and right through the day on Saturdays and Sundays. Menu choices include a good selection of traditional British pub fare such as Fish & chips, Lamb King Henry and the Outgate burger as well as vegetarian and vegan options. They also offer a pizza-only takeaway service. During the summer months the Outgate often has live music too and there are currently two en-suite letting rooms available should you wish to use the Outgate as a base for some of the many beautiful walks available right from the doorstep such as Latterbarrow, Tarn Hows, Wray Castle and Claife Heights. The honeypot village of Hawkshead is just a mile away.
