Really enjoyed the carvery but had to wait until 12.15pm when it was open. We lunch 11.45 until 12.45 so then we had to rush. If only it was open and ready to serve by 12 noon latest - we would visit at least fortnightly

My husband and I eat regularly at the Oyster Catcher. The food is always good, although the service unfortunately isn't. The staff are helpful but always under pressure consequently things get forgotten or arrive very late.
On our last visit we were presented with the requested pots of tea, tea is only available for on so two pots arrived, one without a lid as it had been lost and the other very stained and with a chipped spout. The server was very apologetic but it is the attention to detail that is important. The decor is wonderful and moves this carvery well in front of local competition (i.e Tobycarvery) and it is good value. The presentation of the teapots devalued the whole experience - dirty, bits missing - do they care? probably but not completely!

Completely horrendous. I took my elderly grandparents here for dinner, approximately 4pm. There was only about two other tables in the restaurant and we were still left waiting for almost 30 minutes before being shown to the carvery. I asked twice how long it would be and the 'waitress' barked back that ot would be 2 minutes on each occasion. When we did go up to the carvery there were limited, dry vegetables - we were left waiting another 5 minutes before the new carrots arrived. By this point we had spotted a big fly sat on the turkey so enough was enough! We left, and will not go back. Me and my boyfriend left this restaurant about 3 weeks ago too because we were left for ages before our order was taken. We ordered 2 carveries, was left for another 10 minutes then told there was not enough meat left! A shambles, completely unable to wait upon less than 10 customers, god knows what it would be like if it was full. Do not go here.

I would recommend you miss this one out. The quality has deteriorated very quickly. A group of us from work had a Christmas meal there & enjoyed a good night. Four of us called back last week & were very disappointed. The majority of it was cold & when we asked the chef to replenish the vegetables we were told that it would be replaced when the dishes were empty. In other words eat the dried up remains & we'll bring out fresh for the next group. We told the waitress when she came to our table. After discussing the matter with "management" she came back to offer sweets or coffees - too late we wanted a nice main course. We won't be returning & we will pass this on to anyone we know.

Celebrated a friend's 50th Birthday at this restaurant on Thursday 24 July for the first time since it refurbishment and thoroughly enjoyed the night.
We were very impressed with the upgrade of the place especially the furniture & decoration.
The staff were very pleasant but most importantly the carvery was excellent.
We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I recently visited the Oyster Catcher Hull due to the refurbishment taking place and the change of diners. On arrival into the restaurant it looked fantastic and greatly welcoming. This was the only good of the whole restaurant. The staff are unknowledgable of the products and slow at service. We were seated by a young lady no older than 20 and was introduced to another no older than 16. it took 40 mins for our starter to come out and another 20 to be took to the carvery area. The meat was very dry and the vegetables undercooked. The prices that you pay for the food are high considering the quality of food you receive. All in all I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. Bad service and bad quality of food.

My wife and I use this restaurant frequently. The staff are pleasant and polite. I would recommend eating here to anyone.
