I would not recommend this restaurant for service. Although the food is nice, the quality of customer service is terrible, On arrival and departure my husband and I experienced no friendly greeting (not even a smile!). Whilst choosing our drinks, we got hurried along by the woman who was serving us and when they only bought 1 drink out and we had to ask for the other, there was no apology made.
When we asked for the bill, this comprised of one figure with no breakdown and when we asked for the breakdown, discovered they had sneakily included a 10% service charge. We are regular diners and this is the worse experience we have had in a long time, if you want a good dining experience try Chaophraya, Tai Wu or Pan asia.

Having just had a lunch time meal at the Pacific (9 June)
I can only describe it as very poor. There was little choice and the food was not replenished as it ran out. The staff attitude was take it or leave it. I shall certainly not be visiting this establishment again

Don't bother going anywhere else in town.
This place never disappoints. The best!

I went to the Pacific for a birthday meal and was initially impressed. As far an China Town restaurants go it was visually pleasing with comfortable seating, pleasent decor and a jovialatmosphere. The service seemed rushed, one of the waiters spilled an entire glass of wine over a friend of mine, this was fine ,accidents happen and the waiter apologised profusely, however no replacement glass of wine was even offered. We brushed this off not wanting to cause a fuss however the real drama of the evening was yet to come. When it came time to pay, the waitress loudly announced at the table that my card had been declined, a little sheepish I replied that I had just been paid and there was no way the card could have been declined. I accompanied her to the front desk where I was gruffly barked at by the manager (I presume) who declared that my card had been declined. I insisted he try it again but I was then told that the card machine was now broken and that they had called my bank who had told them of this. I asked them to call my bank again but they refused and told me they had closed for the evening! moderatly annoyed to say the least I went to the bank machine to withdraw money. During my time away from the restaurant the same manager chastised my friends who were still at the table asking them had I ran off without paying!? When I finally came back to pay I told them that my card had worked as I had insisted and that whoever they spoke to (if they had spoken to anyone at all) at the bank had been incorrect. They accepted my money and thanked me but by this point I was sorely disapointed and embaressed at being treated like I was attempting to rip them off. This manager should be ashamed!

The selection of food offered is always a good mix with a wide choice encompassing starters, mains and surprisingly wide and interesting selection of desserts. I've been there many times over the last two years and have never left disappointed. I'd happily recommend this place and have as a good quality establishment that take care and pride in cooking and presenting their food when compared to other similar places that are close by.

I used to love Chinese food, but after so many disappointing meals in countless faceless Chinese restaurants, I lost my love. I wasn't sure what to expect from Pacific but I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu is one of the best I have seen in a Chinese restaurant. Great mixes and a wide selection. Service was a little ropey but the quality of the food more than made up for it. This restaurant alone has genuinely reignited my love for Chinese food. Fantastic!

Great restaurant, they offer the traditional Chinese menus that we're all used to seeing. They also offer some Chinese dishes that you perhaps have never seen, I would recommend you try them, I tried an oyster & clam soup/broth dish, it was very tasty. The style of the restaurant is also very nice the lunch menu is very nice and at a good price, it's slightly more expensive than the norm, but the quality is very high.

My girlfriend and I have recently tried both the Thai and Chinese restaurants at pacific, and we can't wait to go back! The food is outstanding in both, with a great range of food to suit all palate's, (try the salt and pepper ribs in the Chinese!) Although a little more expensive than the nearby rivals in Chinatown, you wont feel cheated out of your money and is definitely worth a visit, if only for a special occasion.

This is a risky thing to say, but the food here was as good as any meal I had in Thailand last year. It's more expensive than other restaurants in the area but it's well worth spending a little more as it was so delicious. I can't wait to return and sample the Chinese menu!

Both myself and my wife have eaten at both the Chinese and the Thai restaurants on the occasions we have visited Manchester. The food and service have always been fantastic. I am sure if you like good food you will not be disappointed.
