Hi I want to ask why do you cook dog meat? I told everyone to watch out ... I decided to call the office to check your restaurant.

This The Pagoda in Wakefield, a Chinese Restaurant is the very best we have ever visited, the service is A1, the choice on the menu is extensive, the staff are more than attentive, the surroundings are very oriental as is the background subtle music. The whole package is extremely favourable. There is no surcharge, the food is cooked to a very good standard, the staff are friendly, polite and we feel like one of the family whenever we visit this restaurant, The Pagoda. The fish pond inside the restaurant is a nice touch too. Every time my husband and myself have been, the toilets are ALWAYS pristine clean. We have NEVER had upset stomachs after eating and drinking at this fab place. We feel like one of the family. They have a free car park just outside the place, if it is full, never fear as you can always park in Aldi car park right next to the Pagoda itself, PERFECTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lovely restaurant! Very pleasant staff and fast, attentive service. I have never been able to fault this restaurant and neither have my family or friends- it is one of those places where I always feel in the mood to go.
Try the salt and pepper chicken starter, it is actually amazing- and for main I ALWAYS have chicken on a skewer with any one of the fantastic sauces, beautiful!

Went last night with my wife. Have been many time before and always found it good. Food tasteless last night...all dishes.
Wont go again!!

In my opinion this is by far the worst restaurant in Wakefield, the Sunday buffet is very poor, the main course and starters for the buffet are the same as each other.
Save your money

Terrible food, excellent service. I hadn't visited the Pagoda for about 12 months and unfortunately this time round found the food to be bland. Its a shame cause I used to rely on this place when I fancied going out for Chinese. However, the service as always was excellent, lets hope they can bring the food up to the same standard.

I have been to the Pagoda many times since it opened (I live nearby). I have celebrated special occasions (large party), or been for a quiet meal for two. I have yet to be disappointed.. the staff will bend over backwards to help; even mixing and matching the already varied menu. To be honest, the wine list isn't brilliant, but the 'house' choices are palatable. Go for the 'sizzlers'...my favourite! If you are a large party, ask them to mix and match, they will just recommend a feast or vary the menu. One downside....I went for Sunday lunch, once....didn't enjoy it! guess I'm more of a roast beef and Yorkshire person! I have no connection with this place other than that of a satisfied (and regular) customer.

The Pagoda has a great feel from the moment you walk in the place. Slightly old fashioned decor but I love it - even the fountain!! A great welcome from the staff and some tasty looking surprises on the menu. Starters are well presented and interesting - though maybe a little dull in the taste stakes - but the mains!! Oh dear! I've been several times, usually in a group, and always felt let down - as have the other members of the party. The pork strips I was expecting once turned out to be some sort of processed 'spam' type product!! Bland at best. You can't fault the sweet trolley though - even if the goodies are bought in. A little over the odds, pricewise, for such average food too. A shame as it's a treat to be there and the staff are genuinely nice people.
