This is a small family run restaurant with family links to the Royal Spice at Darton which was awarded the first ever 10/10 for alround food and service quality. What can we say but the palace Tandoori rivals the Royal Spice and has also been awarded a 10/10. Food excellent, service very good and very friendly. Bring your own booze keeps costs low. Booking is a must as it gets very busy - but is certainly worth a visit.

Excellent restaurant, never fails to impress me, the restaurant always has a great atmosphere, the service is great and the food is cheap. I have to say it has the best red onions and mint sauce i have ever had! A++

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years, and I love it. The service is great, and food is very good. It's take your booze, so the price of the meal is very cheap. It's always busy, so better to book a table. Definitely worth a visit.

The restaurant seemed reasonably clean and the atmosphere was lively and it was quite busy as we entered. I ordered an onion bhaji, some chicken pakora and fish tikka to start. Whilst it wasn't the best I had eaten, it was reasonably ok to start. However when it came to the main course the Chicken Tikka Balti was shocking!! The meat was a really unnatural white colour, almost fake looking white & painted with a fluorescent red dye on the outside unlike anything I have eaten before. It didn't taste like it had been near a Tandoor and was obviously not naturally prepared as there was no smoky flavour combined with the spices. The mushroom pilau was created using tinned mushrooms and it was brightly coloured but tasted bland with slightly rotten smell. To make matters worse my wife chose a Chicken Makhani which is normally a thick creamy dish with a subtle blend of mild spices. In this case the sauce was watery red with a slick of molten ghee on it. The chicken was the bright white colour inside and the coating was the same artifical fluorescent red dye painted on the outside again as my Chicken Tikka Balti. We both had garlic naans and they were passable but one side was yellow and looked like it had been painted with a coating of garlic butter giving the bread a yellow and rubbery feel on one side. The bread was quite heavy rather than fluffy and light as it should be if cooked properly. The quality of the cooking, including preparation and the blend of ingredients used indicated extreme inexperience. My recommendation would be stay as far away from here as you can unless you want to spend £40 - £50 on incompetently and carelessly prepared dogs dinner

Discover this little gem of a restaurant where the waiters are very friendly and the food excellent . I have even had a look in the kitchens which are spotless ! This family run business has just remodelled the restaurant and prides itself on its many 'regulars' . If you are nearby give it a try . I promise you will not be disappointed .
