Great meal last night at Panoramic 34. Great view over Liverpool even at night.

I went to Panoramic recently with my partner. Impressive venue and fantastic views. I was very disappointed by the food. Average starter and both of our main courses were sent back to the kitchen as they were both cold. The service was average. I have had much nicer food and service. On the whole we were both disappointed by the experience and would not rush back.

we planned a special meal at the Panoramic and really researched the Liverpool restaurants before taking the plunge. We know the eating establishments in the city well and Panoramic would have the generous good quality of 60 Hope Street but in a great setting. I ordered a cooked fois gras starter. It was fridge cold at the bottom. The portions are all very small.I broke into a bread roll only to find a hair had been baked into it horror of horrors. I discreetly told the pompous french maitre d' who arrogantly retorted "well, its not one of my hairs"!! He left the roll on the table and half an hour later returned and asked me if I was eating it or not. No apology, no gesture of grace from the restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere special for a plush meal please don't patronise this establishment. The food cannot compare to the consistently good 60 Hope Street or Fraiche in Oxton or even the Bar and Grill on Brunswick Street. It is such a shame that restaurants like Panoramic are rewarded with custom simply on the basis of what you see out of its windows. This is my first restaurant review.I am not in the habit of reporting every poor meal but I am appalled at the idea of any other poor souls spending their hard earned cash and precious time in a restaurant as unworthy and uninterested in the quality of their service and food, as this one.

Emperor's new clothes - pretensions of greatness but no substance of any kind. We went the summer before last and had a wonderful meal. This time (2/5/10) Marshall appeared to have been beguiled by the fine art/fine dining movement but clearly lacks the skills to pull it off, the end result being a confusing combination of mismatched flavours which left one completely unsatisfied in every sense. The once magnificent cheese board has now diminished to a somber looking bunch of dried out specimens that would better grace a Christmas buffet down at the local sports and social club. This really was a terribly disappointing experience from a restaurant which promised so much. Marshall needs to rethink or move on, quickly.

Hi, I have visited the Panoramic several times and have never had any problems. My Fiance worked there as a Chef from September 2009 until Mid March 2010, and although it was long hours with little financial reward, he learnt a great deal and knew that it would look impressive on his CV. At the start of March, I asked my Fiance to book a table for me and 5 girl friends (who were visiting from the Isle of Man, Scotland and Manchester) for a drink on 20th March. My fiance was not included.
As no telephone confirmation had been received by either myself or my fiance, I rang the restaurant on the morning of 20th to confirm. The receptionist confirmed the booking for 5pm.
Upon arrival, I was told by the receptionist that I would not be allowed to enter the restaurant. The front of house manager then came to reception and explained that since my fiance had ceased employment there, neither of us will be allowed to enter in there ever again! I explained that I had friends who had requested to go there for the view and all we wanted was a drink in the bar. Again he re-iterated that he and the chef had reached a decision and that was final.
My friends were horrified and again asked for an explanation. Not wanting to cause any further fuss, I left with my friends.
There are many things I could say about what happens in that kitchen, and I just want the public to be aware of the attitudes of the staff. They didn't even have the decency to tell me when I called to confirm the booking on the morning.
I think I can sum it up by saying reputational damage is hard to rebuild, and I will never again recommend this restaurant to anyone.

What a fantastic restaurant. I went here a couple of years ago when it first opened with my girlfriend and it certainly impressed. The service is of a very high standard and the food was stunning. Although I will comment about the lamb which I asked for medium and it came very rare indeed. At the time I didn't want to make a scene so I just left it. I enjoy the experience as a whole very much and would certainly recommend it for a romantic meal

Excellent....everything about it...food, service, views, ambience, value etc. Probably the best restaurant in Liverpool.

Went for a family celebration. Once you accept it is not going to be a bargain basement night, I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
We chose the "2 courses for (about) £32" option.
I had the lamb (with small chunks of black pudding / saute potato and something else (?), set out on the plate like a masterpiece. Almost too good to disturb, but once I did, I thought it was lovely. Others had the sea bass and the beef. One thought it was underdone (she likes things well-done), but it was taken away for a longer cook.
For dessert, I had the vanilla / cherry option - again very nice. I tried a bit of the chocolate option (via daughter) which was again lovely. A couple tried the rhubarb option, finding the casing a bit tough.
We were brought a couple of tasters in between courses. Parsnip soup was lovely. A dessert / sorbet was OK, but a bit tasteless to me.
We had a couple of bottles of wine @ £15-20 each, which went down well.
Service was excellent throughout the evening.
The views were staggering, and we saw a wonderful sunset.
On the whole a night to remember.

Dined recently with 5 adults and 2 youngsters great place, views terrific particularly as sun set, ambiance great, friendly helpful staff and the food was terrific by any 4 star standards, well presented, beautifully cooked and just enough not to overface you. Scallops starter was lovely as was the foie gras and the beef, lamb and lobster were really good, venison had an unusual texture and was classed ok but would not have it again, very good night out at a fair price for the high quality repast. Will go again in a couple of weeks.

A regular diner at 60 Hope Street, decided to go with family and try for myself this well talked about eatery.
Very over rated....
Staff had very little knowledge of what they were serving. Top end prices with no frills service.
Back to 60 Hope Street it is...
Views great, but an eatery cannot maintain a reputation on views alone. If you must try it, juts pop into the bar for a drink see the view and eat somewhere else.
Overall rating 5.5/10, that is being generous....
