We visited 17/10/14 - Bought groupon voucher for 2, made booking for 2 adults with child (2yr). Nice food but terrible customer service experience. After poppadums and before starters arrived they tried to charge us for child meal even though our daughter ate bits of ours!!! We were not asking them for extra. She had her tea before we left - doesn't like curry, she only wanted bits of the poppadums. Walked out after starters (had takeout), so angry and totally embarrassed us in front of other customers. We took our complaint to the manager. The first time and last time we will eat here!!!

We was a party of 4 going for a meal at The Pearl in Audenshaw near Manchester, on arrival the restaurant looks nice for the outside, we had booked for 7pm and arrived on time we were asked to get a drink and wait in the lounge area which wasn't a problem, the decor in the lounge was a ok but looked a bit tired, we was called to our table about 15 mins later, before we sat down I went to use the toilet (mens) these were disgusting and run down. The service and the meal were ok not the best but not the worst I've had we had popadoms with chutneys which was nice and fresh, then we had a tandoori mixed meat platter for 2 between me and my wife which was good, the only problem I found was the meats wasn't really that hot when they arrived but never the less it was very nice, we both had a different curry, pilau rice and a garlic nann bread to share, same again the curries wasn't served hot enough for me and they didn't have any heating trays on the table to keep the food hot so the dish went cold very quickly, but no complaints about the dishes they were nice. It was at this point my Sister in Law found a Black hair in her curry (the Short and Curley kind) it's a good job I had finished my meal or I would had gagged. She called a waiter over and told him, he went off and we didn't see him again so after asking several waiters what was happening my Sister in Law went to the reception desk and was met by the Manager, his response was "WELL, ITS ONLY A HAIR" which you can imagine made us feel a bit angry, at this point things become a bit heated (hotter than the food in fact) and we were told to get out without even an apology, which we did. So if you want a Luke warm meal with added pubes and to be humiliated then this is the place for you, we certainly won't be EVER be going back!!!
Vinda Who.
Have been to Pearl many times over last few years,by far best curry in Tameside in my opinion, have dined out at most curry houses in Ashton,Stalybridge,Denton,Mossley and have never got bored of dining at the Pearl as you can sometimes with others.
Service has always been excellent, have been mid week and weekends,ok,maybe waited longer for meal at weekend but this to be expected.Food always great

We visited the Pearl restaurant for the first time this last Sunday night. We'd rung ahead of time to check what time the last table could be booked, which is 9.30pm & arrived just before.
The food was really lovely and we had a platter for two as a starter. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well.
We decided to take our delicious main courses home as a take away because one waiter paced up and down to see if we had finish our starters when we clearly hadn't which was a little uncomfortable as we were sat on the back wall of the restaurant.
I would definitely visit again as on the whole the food and level of service was very good, everyone has bad days I guess!

I would certainly NOT visit this place again. The waiters were totally ignorant towards the needs of both my wife and I on our anniversary and when the foos did arrive, it was cold and full of spices - when it was specifically requested to be mild! The toilets stunk, it nearly made me puke, and the service... well... let's not go there... Advised to avoid at all costs!

We have been to the Pearl on several occasions and we always have an excellent experience. The food is incredible - my husband raves particularly on the lamb chop starter - and the portions are plentiful.
The staff are very attentive and the service both swift and professional. Our children are always welcomed as heartily as we are and enjoy the different selections to experiment with.
With the modern, plush decor and extended bar area, the Pearl is a great place to enjoy a special occasion.

18 of us went there for a friends birthday, Don't be fooled by the surroundings, whilst the building and interior is nicely furnished, and the music, bar & disco area are very nice, BUT! the staff were rude, and didn't seem to care. They wouldn't take drinks orders at the table, they were rushing us to make our choices and almost forced us to have things we didn't once because they have a £10 minimum food order per person - if your not big eater or only want 1 course its not easy. It took them over an hour to bring us our food after we did. Then the disappointment continued... the food was dreadful, most of us had chicken and all thought it tasted like rubber, probably pre-chopped pre-packed rubbish. It was the worst curry I've had. I would never recommend it.
If you are looking for a good curry in Manchester, stick to the east side of the curry mile in Rusholme

We visited The Pearl mot long after it had first opened and first impressions when walking through the door were excellent, its undergone major refurb since it was a brewers fayre type of place, the bar area is huge with plenty of selection of wines, beers etc
Service is very attentive and the food is of a few different variants of Indian cuisine (much like Indian Ocean A-U-L)
The only bad point is that with all the space and seating we were ushered into a smaller room towards the rear of the restaurant to eat in open plan with the table and seating quite close together.
On the whole very good and we will visit again!!
