if you want good food at an extortionate price go to plantation. although the food was yummy the actual restaurant was well below standards and could only be likened in decor to your strange mad aunts house, the decorations were homemade at best, at worst it looked like they were found at the local dump. they had plastic tablecloths and the table was devoid of any decorations not even a tealight for a centrepiece. there was no ambience, the only saving grace was the staff were really friendly although they did start to eat their food before we had left the building so we felt bad to ask for service. for 20 quid per head I expected a lot more especially as we had to serve ourselves!

Plantation is simply out of this world. First high class Caribbean Restaurant in Bristol. It has an open kitchen. And, your meal is prepared right in front of your eyes. How cool is that? Personally, I am addicted to plantation's fried and baked plantains..
Did you know? Plantation Restaurant owners introduced the no-smoking ban long before the Government got round to implementing it.
I remember a belly dancing show as part of a charity event at the restaurant. I actually felt being outside my own body. Which other place can provide you with such experiences. I hope you have similar experiences when you next visit the restaurant and write about them..
I recommend plantation as the only venue for your night out. Why not book your party.. This Restaurant has the space to host a large party.. Have your there and then write about it here..

This restaurant was superb, we had been wanting to try real Caribbean food for quite a while, Plantation had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed, we had a very warm welcome and were pleased to see they had a buffet style menu on (Sat night) we could eat as much as physical possible for £14.99, and we did just that, the food was amazing, their was nothing pretentious about this place, it almost felt homely. The staff were more than happy to explain how the food had been cooked and what some of it was!!? My partner wanted to try the famous Caribbean saltfish he had heard about which wasn? on the buffet table but once the staff heard this we had a little dish brought to our table (FOC). We also tired the local beer which was surprisingly tasty and a couple of cocktails..!! Ummmm.. All in all we had a great experience, I wanted to ask for a doggy bag of jerk chicken but thought again..! Cant wait to take friends and do it all again..!! Excellent.
Plantation
I've had 2 awful meals at this place. The food was very good - when it arrived. However, the service on both occasions was very poor. We were offered our bill after the starters (they had forgotten our mains). On another occasion, it took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive and a further 45 mins for mains for only half of the party. The staff didn't really seem to comprehend what the problem was. Good to see that things are improving - hope it lasts.

What can I say; it? nice to have a real Caribbean restaurant in Bristol that provides you with a good quality meal. PLANTATION - keep doing your thing!!!
Plantation
I have been to Plantation a couple of times and would definitely return. It is a light, airy restaurant and very pleasantly decorated. The food is outstanding for the price and the service is very good. It's great to see the open plan kitchen and watch your food being cooked. The staff are all very attentive and the owner is a diamond.
Plantation
