Hard to find but well worth the effort, the Plough at Whitegate is hidden away in a tranquil corner of the Cheshire countryside, not too far from both Winsford and Northwich. The inn dates back to 1869 and prior to that was a beer house. It also sits just off the Whitegate Way, which runs along an old railway line, and is a popular stop for both walkers and cyclists. Food is served every day from 12 noon through to 9pm (8pm Sundays) and the menu is packed full of mouth-watering dishes plus a choice of daily specials. There’s also a range of quality cask ales and an extensive wine list alongside draught lagers, ciders, soft drinks and a selection of coffees to choose from. The Plough also has a landscaped garden area with heated pods available.
