Called into the Potting Shed recently after a tip off from a friend who recommended it following a recent change in ownership of the place. I was very impressed! The weather was cold, but the welcome was warm - and the food was heavenly! I visited around midday on Sunday; some were having brunch (which looked yummy - shame I had already had breakfast!), some were making a start on lunch and others had simply called in mid-'ramble' (or even mid-horseride!) for a coffee and pastry by the warmth of the roaring fire. I was there for lunch: Fish and chunky home made chips for me, roast duck sandwich for another, home made burger for another (the size of it!!), and beautifully made fish cakes for the last of us. The portions were hearty and the presentation was amazing, and this was furthermore extended to the desserts (where you'll struggle to choose just one!).
I also took the opportunity to check out the Potting Shed's set menu for the evenings running up to Christmas and made a booking there and then for the extended family (amazingly priced by the way!). I cannot wait to return in December.

I took my granny here for her birthday a table of 10 and it was very nice. Good atmosphere for the old and the young, nice wine and excellent food and service. Apparently it has been here for 10 years, great find, will be back

I thought I must write a review on the potting shed after a wonderful evening we had for our office outing Christmas do. Were we a table of 18 so quite a few of us, having organised this for the office this year and often had problems I was delighted with the speed, and quality of the food and service. It was a pleasure to be there and enjoy the evening so much, thank you to Kate Horsfield and all her staff, we'll be back next year.

we just had our office Christmas dinner at the potting shed and thought it was wonderful. Such a beautiful place next to the stream at night, amazingly large Christmas tree, apparently from the field behind the Potting shed as there is a garden centre/nursery opposite. Great food, lovely service and nice selection of wine! We thank you very much.

Such a wonderful place to bring the family, not only can you visit The Potting Shed and have an excellent lunch my boyfriend had the Swiss burger with melted cheese bacon and mushrooms and I had a warm chicken and bacon salad, yummy. There are also other places to look at a womenswear, gift shop, cards and a garden centre. Brill place, I would highly recommend the place. Also lovely staff.

I'm from Huddersfield and have heard about this place so booked a Friday night when there was live music in. It has a wonderful ambiance and great decor, the food was very good and they had a good selection of wines.

lovely location in pot house hamlet, we went as a family for a day out and had cream teas for two. My wife and I then booked for an evening meal on saturday night which has jazz band playing, we really enjoyed it and are going to bring friends back. Plenty of free parking right outside the door!!
