We visited this lovely restaurant while staying down in Exmouth last June to visit my daughter who had recently moved down to the area. Our landlady at the B+B recommended the Puffing Billy as it was my partner's birthday while we were there and we wanted to go somewhere nice. Her recommendation was certainly spot on - this is a lovely place and I hope to visit again soon. Food was excellent and first class service. One of the better places we've found!

We had heard great things about the Puffin Billy. Unfortunately, it did not live up to its reputation. Poor service, over priced food, limited menu choice and a lack of atmosphere. Only superseded by a rude inhospitable, owner.

Gone down in standards worst meal and service I've ever had, since new ownership.

Having just moved to the area we came across the Puffing Billy by chance and discovered a gem! We have been three times in the last few weeks and have not been disappointed - we don't plan to tell too many people as we find it hard to get a table now! Excellent choice of food and wonderful service!

We returned to the Puffing Billy to find it had new owners. The food is still out of this world, and the service was pretty good too. However the atmosphere is not quite the same as it used to be. We thought the lights were pretty bright and the music was wrong (The Prodigy!). The prices have dropped a bit too. Overall it was a good experience but would now consider it to be more of a lunch venue than somewhere for a romantic evening meal.

Fab restaurant especially on a Friday night when you get live Jazz. Lovely presentation of food although my husband (a big eater) had to order vegetables as a side dish.
