we unfortunately had a meal there, food badly presented and very overpriced £1.50 for two mushrooms and £5.25 for a glass of wine
will never go there again.
is it because they have no competition

...First time we went was ok, However the second time was a joke...the menu had just changed(only after i ate i found out it had been changed from Freshly cooked food to Microwave meals)
The meal, ...Kids meal with raw chicken...yes RAW However the chef said the pink was bacon.
My meal Hunters Chicken, Cold meat, sent back...My misses's meal...Blatently microwaved...with cheese in the sauce...no mention of this on the menu...She cant eat dairy! The mothering law's meal....Even after the second attempt at stuffed chicken breast we got chicken breast with a blob of dry sauce on top,no mushrooms as per menu with no rocket with dressing, The chicken was RAW...the chef then said it was bacon (Even though no bacon on the dish he insisted it was) However we knew it was RAW...We were offered a sandwich to replace it!!!!!!!!! This dish alone was £11...Which they refunded, after telling us that it came out a pack.... HOW THIS PLACE CAN TRADE SELLING MICROWAVE JUNK< WHICH IS RAW I DO NOT KNOW.

Been to the Punch Bowl quite a few times recently and the food was every time superb. The surroundings are warm and cosy, with a family feeling. Children are more than welcome and for a change the childrens' menu was not the typical "nuggets and chips" but the likes of real chicken and seabass.
Service is always quick and pleasant. Has become the family favourite for a proper Sunday Lunch!

Arrived for meal, very quiet and wondered why....!
Sat down and no table numbers, which is a little confusing, although we were given wooden spoons with numbers on after ordering....?!
OK....food......
Went to order - asked for sirloin steak - no sirloin steak, or rump or lamb...!
Starters arrived, which were ok. Main courses - fish and chips arrived - ate chips, fish was left as it was incredibly greasy and riddled with bones. Also, half of the veggie option of butternut squash was left as it wasn't the best.
All in all, not a very good experience and one I wouldn't like to repeat.

HI MY NAME IS RACHEL I AM 11 YEARS OLD I VISTED THE PUNCH BOWL WITH MY MUM AND DAD ON THE 24TH OF NOVEMBER.TO BEGIN WITH I WAS SERVED THE WRONG MEAL, WHICH WAS QUITE PLAINLY ORDERED CORRECTLY. HOWEVER, THE WAITRESS INSISTED I HAD ORDERED THE MEAL SHE HAD.FOLLOWING THIS, MY MUM ORDERED A BEEF CURRY WHICH WAS FOUND TO BE GRIZZLY MEAT.AFTER OUR MEAL MY DAD THEN ORDERED ME A VANILLA ICE CREAM, SOME 20 MINS LATER IT ARRIVED!... OVERALL I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE PUNCH BOWL AS I AND MY FAMILY WHERE TRULY DISAPPOINTED AS WE HAVE MANY TIMES IN THE PAST VISITED AND FOUND TO BE VERY ENJOYABLE. I DID GIVE THE MANAGER MY OPINION, HOWEVER HE JUST SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS.

Went to try the newly refurbished Punch Bowl for my son's 15th Birthday on 20/9/07.
We were very disappointed with certain aspects of the evening: the 'distressed look' table was sticky and we needed to ask the waitress to wipe it, which she did happily. The food: the fillet steak was poor quality, tough, with a piece of grissle attached, potatoes were swimming in old oil, chicken breast was tough, we will not be recommending this pub to our many friends
