This is a small family run pub, located in the heart of Blaenau Gwent in the former industrial town of Tredegar. The birth place of Aneurin Bevan, Neil Kinnock and Ray Reardon.
This olde worlde pub is full of charm, it has traditional wooden floors and wooden booths. An ideal place to come for a friendly chat with the locals, or that special evening out with your partner, family or friends. No matter what the occasion you will always be assured of a very warm and friendly welcome by the landlords Sandra & Gwyn Lewis. The Railway, serves a wonderful variety of beers and spirits including the infamous Brains beer.
The pub also boasts an extensive menu of freshly prepared home cooked food, cooked just the way you like it! at prices your pocket will like.
There are promotional evenings where you can enjoy a curry and a pint for just over a fiver or treat yourself to one of their special grills, all cooked to the Railway's secret recipe. The desserts and puddings are divine, again all home made. Sunday lunch is excellent value, 3 courses for under £10 - you can beat the credit crunch here.
There is a variety of entertainment to suit all, television, quizzes, pool, darts and karaoke and special theme evenings. The atmosphere during the rugby internationals is amazing.
Children and pets are welcome at this pub too.
Don't worry you won't have to drink and drive either, - the pub can accommodate up to 10 guests in their bed and breakfast accommodation, for just £25 per night.
Why not go along and see for yourself?- you won't be disappointed, I promise.
