The service was not good for the price, the staff seemed interested when we walked in, but as soon as we ordered our food they forgot about us. Poppadoms where on our table, but no sauces (wrong table). Nobody asked us how our food was or the service, once our starters had finished they didn't replace our knives (we had to steal some from another table). They seemed only interested in paying attention to what looked like their regulars. The food was OK, not great and definitely not good for the price. We ordered a desert and they didnt bring it to us and in the end we were running late for our film and had to rush out.

It's been a while since I visited the Rajdoot - in fact I hadn't visited the new premises at all; but upon stepping into the luxuriously appointed foyer it was like meeting up with an old friend.
There were seven of us - a mixture of adults and children all hot and bothered after a busy day shopping; the children were hungry and the adults ravenous.
We were soon settled into the waiting area to peruse the menu and nibble on some marvellous indian crispy things - very moorish!
The air conditioning soon cooled us down and before we knew it we were seated and the poppadums and salad were served. Now I used to swear that the besat mint sauce in Birmingham was always to be found at The Maharaja in Hurst Street - it could be that The Doot has equalled it if not surpassed it.
Starters are always a good indicator of whats to come; our starters were exquisitely prepared and presented. Top quality ingredients and just enough to leave you wanting more - always a good sign.
We went overboard with our main course. There were 7 of us and we ordered 8 main courses plus 4 vegetable dishes plus 4 rice and 4 naan - I did say we were ravenous! - you know what? - every morsel was eaten and the juices mopped up with the breads!
This was an experience - the decor the atmosphere and above all the quality of the food really does make for something outstanding. One of my guests was from Plymouth and hadn't been to a Birmingham Restauranbt before - he went away a happy man!
Well done Rajdoot and keep up the great work

Excellent food and very authentic decor. Place for special days. Not the usual curry house. Place to impress the other half.
