A real BAD experience...
Table booked for 9pm, Saturday - very busy upon arrival and very noisy - shown to table after brief wait in bar area. Placed order. Within a few minutes poppadoms arrived with usual accompaniments. Starter served at 1030pm immediately after asking to speak to the manager. Lamb chops (one and a half per serving) cold and very poor value for £3.60. Waited until almost 11pm before again asking for the manager. A separate party of 4 on the next table to us stated they had arrived 20 minutes before us and had still not had there main course. Manager came and we told him that we wanted to leave. He insisted that we stay intimating his intention to adjust the bill accordingly. Main course served around 11pm (2 hours after our arrival) - Madras very course and unpalatable - we just picked the six pieces of chicken out and mixed with the rice. Dupiaza consisted of literally hald a balti dish of fried onions and six pieces of chicken in a very bland tomato sauce. English waitress asked if everything was alright and apologised for the delay in serving the food. We complained further about the amount of onions and commented that the flavour of the curries were well below par. To be fair, the popadoms, nan bread, stuffed paratha and rices were fresh and very nice. Left at 11.15pm and saw the manager in the bar area. He was apologetic and immediately offered a 50% discount on the whole meal (original total £44.50) and offered us £20 worth of vouchers - he was seen handing these out freely earlier during the evening. We declined the vouchers whilst informing him that we will never come back to this restaurant. Out of interest the party of four on the adjoining table got their main meal just after ours was served and they immediatly complained about the unacceptable delay, food being cold and tasteless. The manager agreed to take for the drinks only.
