The Royal hotel, now "The Royal Inn", provides excellent food coupled with efficient and friendly service. Their house wines are reasonably priced and good, and the traditional fish and chips is a most substantial portion which is fresh, moist and well cooked. I take guests there as I know we can rely on good food.

My daughter and her friends were not treated to good service on the last 2 times they visited this restaurant. They felt they were unfairly treated because of their age and told to leave their table after only 40min into their meal, as the restaurant was busy and people were waiting to eat. They were not asked if everything was ok with their meal, as other diners were and at one point when their drinks arrived, they were almost chucked at them. They and their friends will not to going back.
