Salvador & Amanda (as in Dali & his muse Amanda Lear) aims to bring a touch of ‘the real Spain’ to town. Unfortunately, it’s more Costa del Sol than Real Madrid, the gothic surroundings looking shabby after heavy wear & tear & the cocktails unevenly executed. Better to stick to sangria pitchers at £13 (or £18 for a deluxe Cava version), beers such as trusty San Miguel & the concise wine list that includes a 2001 Ochoa Tempranillo as house Rioja. Decently-done tapas provide sustenance for it all: pan-seared oysters with button mushrooms in garlic, sea bass served with chorizo potatoes, tuna carpaccio & tortilla are all present & correct.
Seriously, who doesn't love tapas? They're so delicious and convenient, what's not to love? And nobody makes yummy, robust, bite-sized specialities quite like the Spanish. Tasty, convenient and oh-so-fun tapas is as much a culture as a cuisine. Whether for two or the whole gang, tapas always, ALWAYS goes down well. On that note, we introduce Salvador and Amanda: London’s hottest tapas restaurant and bar. Located in the heart of theatre-land, it is the number one venue for drinking, dancing and tasty tid-bits.
In addition, this lively venue have just introduced ‘Mix-it-Mondays’ (starting on the 7th July). This is a whole new twist on traditional dating.
