Had a great night at San Carlo the other night, went out for a staff party to celebrate one of their birthdays. It was a great atmosphere and the staff was very helpful seeing as there was a fair few of us. All of our food came out at the same time, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Great place.

My sister and I went to San Carlo as a gift to our mum, we had booked a table but on arrival asked to wait until our table was ready, this being half and hour. Upon ordering our meal, we waited an hour for our food to arrive only for mine and my sisters dish to be served cold. Throughout the evening the waiter kept on tapping on my shoulder in order to ask me to move to let him past. Rude staff and cold food, I had the worst night ever and left without having anything to eat, I would not recommend and I will never go again

San Carlo is a fantastic restaurant, simply brilliant food. I normally judge the quality of a meal by thinking about whether I can reproduce it at home to a similar quality, and there’s no way I can replicate the taste of the Lamb cutlets I had – was extremely tender and the sauce was so finely balanced with Mediterranean flavour. Highly recommend this to any food lovers out there.

San Carlo Liverpool is a gem of a restaurant. I’ve been there a few times for different occasions and the food is always high quality. I recommend their ‘Pasta Alla Norma’ dish – really tasty with loads of fresh vegetables in!

We booked a table for 9pm on a thursday evening at San Carlo on Castle Street. We Arrived at about 8:50pm and straight away informed them that we were there, we got directed to the bar which although very nice to look at, is very small and with people sitting around it, very hard to get served!! We waited about 15 mins to order a drink, with me in the end having to wave my arms in front of one of the few bar staff face. The restaurant was very busy with 35+ yrs old business types and had quite a upty vibe! We waited until half 9, with no one approaching us to explain when we were going to be seated, instead we had to keep addressing the receptionist who didn't seem to care customers were unhappy. 'It will be about 5 mins', wateva, at 5 to 10pm we decided to walk out as we were so disappointed we didn't want to spend our money there. The food may be great but we'll never know because we'll never gpo back.
Awful service!!! After we walked out a waiter followed us and explained that our table was now ready... quite surprised they even noticed we left!! Think the restaurant has got too big for its own boots and needs to remember its roots!!!

I recommend San Carlo if you want to (re)discover true Italian food in a nice atmosphere. We had a familiar lunch on Sunday in San Carlo and it was perfect. Italian of origin, my family likes true Italian flavours so we ordered pasta, wine and desserts. It was not extravagant, it was just what we like: authentic Italian food and quality of ingredients. The staff are very warm and most of them speak Italian which has been much appreciated by my parents, always happy to discuss things in their mother tongue.

The restaurant is pleasing to the eye and there is plenty of choice, however, the vegetarian option is limited to non existent really. Having had the arrabiata as a predictable choice - it doesn't have cheese in- have to say apart from the penne and tomato sauce there was not much else in it. My omnivore colleagues enjoyed their meals and did have alot of choice.

Some colleagues and I went to San Carlo on Granby Street for lunch at the beginning of the week. We often meet out for lunch (on expenses of course) but sometimes feel slightly rushed. San Carlo recognised our need to relax a little, as this is the reason we leave the office in the first place. The space was very comfortable and the waitress moved at our pace. I am hoping they will offer repeat bookings each week, as the menu really provoked some hard work from the staff!

food and service were excellent but have to agree with some of the other comments the tables are far too close to each other.

We where booked in the restaurant at 9 0clock did not sit down till 9 30
the waiter took our order at about 9 45 we finally had our starter at
10 15 having said that the food when it came was excellent
The tables where very close together causing one of our party being knocked a few times
But to us what let this restaurant down was the attitude of two of the staff who where very rude and because of this we will not be returning to this restaurant
