I love this restaurant! The location and setting is really unexpected and very lovely. We first went on New Year's Eve, and made a last minute table reservation. We had a special set menu which included some really exciting things I would probably not have thought to order off a menu, such as chicken wrapped in banana leaves and fried (amazing!). On other visits since, we have never been disappointed, the food is always delicious and beautiful, the service excellent and the price reasonable. We may well go back again this new year!

We ate at the Sangthai Restaurant a few weeks ago. The service was great ....... the surroundings beautiful .....and the food was wonderful. If you like Thai cuisine - you will love it!

This is a fantastic restaurant. I have travelled to the Far East many times and this is the best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand. The menu is original and varied and everything is fresh and tasty.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Yorkshire! I have tried a LOT of Thai places since moving here from Chicago, but this is by far the best. Always consistent, fresh and authentic. They really know how to do Pad Thai! Starters are particularly good as well.

I would not recommend this restaurant. I have given it three goes now, as it is a convenient meeting place with friends.
The service is terrible, you are rushed in and rushed out, which is odd considering the times that we have visited there were only a couple of other tables occupied.
The food arrives quickly.. not sure whether this is good or not.. but probably the latter as its low quality, poor tasting food, which you'll find is very much over priced.
I had a couple of glasses of wine, and then a glass of tap water.. which 4 of us all thought tasted like it was tinged with kitchen cleaner detergent!
If you are looking for a really great Thai restaurant and don't mind travelling. The best Thai that I have found in Yorkshire has to be in the small market town of Beverely, called Muang-Thai. Its genuine fresh Thai food at its best, its very small with only 60 covers or so to enable the chef to literally cook your meal to order. Its mouthwatering.
I was sadly disappointed at Sangthai, especially having read so many good reviews in the past. Skip the disappointed and give it a miss.

Our favourite Thai restaurant. Tranquil surroundings with wonderfully pleasant and attentive staff. The food is of a high standard but we particularly enjoy the Malaysian Pork dish made with Tamarind. It is rich, hot and slightly sweet and goes brilliantly with the Ruins Pinotage. The obvious care which goes into makinga. the food is matched by the quality of the ingredients. The deep fried ice cream in bread and coconut is a triumph.

Beautiful food, some of the best Thai I have eaten. It was particularly pleasing to see a wide range of vegetarian on offer, as all too often restaurants are so lazy in this regard.
The only (minor) criticism is that we felt the tables were too close together, but that did not spoil a lovely evening with great food and wine list.

The food is always of an exceptional standard. I have eaten many times at The Sangthai and keep going back for more. The duck salad has to be one of my favourite although the Green Thai curry known to most people is so fresh and tasty. The service is polite and friendly. I don? belong to the league that thinks you can only drink beer with hot food and therefore love this well chosen wine list. Please try to leave room for the deep fried ice cream rolled in coconut.
