Stunned that this hidden gem may no longer be around... Amazing welcome every time we visit, with quality food to match... Shame on Manchester if this restaurant is allowed to disappear!!!! Gutted!!

Had a fab night at Santiago's Restaurant last night... I would highly recommend it, food is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing... It's a little hidden gem of Manchester! :)

Always assured of a warm welcome. Am a regular lunchtime and/or 5.00pm early doors patron. Whether just popping in for a drink, or a full blow-out, be assured of friendly and attentive service, good food/drink and reasonable prices.

We went to Santiago to celebrate my birthday with 2 of our friends on Sat 30th June 2012. We had a warm welcome when we went in and there was entertainment on with a man playing the pan pipes and keyboard dressed with feathers on his head which was nice to listen to. My friend and I both had Mojito cocktail’s which were delicious. For our starters my husband and I had Empanadas light and crispy pastry with minced beef filling – so yummy, our friends had Costillar de Cerdo spare ribs and Ceviche mixture of raw fresh salmon and cod marinated for 48 hrs served on fresh bread. There were clean plates all around. Four our mains we had ANTICUCHO DE POLLO (Chicken Skewers) marinated in garlic, oregano and lemon juice, ANTICUCHO MIXTO (Mixed Skewer) lamb, chicken and chorizo sausage, marinated in garlic, oregano and lemon juice, FILETE A LA PARILLA (Fillet of Argentinian Steak) and LUBINA A LA CHILENA (Chilean Seabass). All cooked really nicely and very tasty. We would really recommend this restaurant as the food is so flavoursome and the staff were very attentive. We arrived at 9pm and after our meal felt no pressure to leave. Prices are reasonable very close to Albert Square and they have mid week special offers. We will be back.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding day at santiago. The reception was fantastic. Our guests were all happy with the tasteful food as we all ordered different dishes. The staff were brilliant and very friendly that my wife,my son and I returned the next day to carry on trying the dishes that we missed the day before.I highly recommend this place and you will not be disappointed.

Our first visit to Santiago 26.05.12. and looking forward to many more.,form the moment my husband and I walked in we where greeted by warm and friendly staff nothing was to much trouble which made our evening most enjoyable. The food is outstanding ,excellent value for money. On hearing of our new found treasure our 16yr old daughter cant wait to experience Santiago for herself.

Tucked away just off Cross Street is Manchester's own piece of South America. Friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food and fine wine.

Went to Santiago for the first time on Saturday 21 April 2012 with my wife for my birthday. The place was full and buzzing on arrival. The staff were excellent and extremely friendly though in no way overbearing. The layout of the place is very informal and the tables are nice and big so you can spread out a bit. The choice on the menu was wide and very fairly priced. For starters I had the spare ribs in a secret bbq sauce. They were probably the best spare ribs I have had and there was a lot of them for £5.95. My wife had a delicious asparagus and goats cheese dish which she raved about. For mains I had the Argentinian fillet of beef, medium rare and cooked to perfection with home made chips and salad. Mrs A plumped for the Pestel de Choclo a traditional Chilean dish which was a mixture of prime minced beef, onions, boneless chicken and chopped boiled egg, topped with a layer of caramelised sweetcorn and basil puree served with a tomato and onion salad. It was simple but extremely tasty and delicious. This was washed down with an excellent Malbec which at £14 a bottle was extremely good value. All in all it was a fantastic meal in a fantastic restaurant and great value for money. I will definitely be going again in the very near future as there was lots more on the menu that I want to try.

On our first night in Manchester we were very happy to find Santiago's. Great service with food to match. For our first experience of Chilean food we were very impressed & now eager to taste more. The service was very friendly and the meals came out hot and in good time. Highly recommend you visit there and try the corn bake and drunken chicken!!
