Great food! good service and outstanding menu. Highly Recommended, Shama Balit, The addictive Restaurant. West Yorkshire.

We only tried the place because we were looking for the speed school round the corner after the Mrs had been flashed. What a stroke of luck! As soon as we walked into the large bar reception we were greeted by a friendly comedian barman who had us in giggles with his one liners. After selecting from the extensive menu whilst leisurely sipping drinks we were led to our private booth in the deceptively big and bright restaurant. The food arrived quickly without us being rushed and was delicious. The waiters were friendly, checked on us regularly and easy to gain attention. Inexpensive, the barman gave the lady a rose as well as some more quips whilst we paid. Whenever we go to Huddersfield we will be taking the Bradford Road route so we can visit the Shama again.

I've lived all over the UK and had many many curries. I would put the food at the Shama in my top 3 curry places i've eaten in. The Roti's are beautiful, fluffy and tasty!
It looks a little old fashioned inside but thats just how a proper "Indian" restaurant in England should be! Nice and cold Cobra lager as well!

Cheerful, friendly place, I like the booths to sit in, nice and private.
Food good, not stunning, but certainly tasty.
Friendly staff make you feel very welcome.

Shama Balti is our 'local' and a very good reason for never moving. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food is fantastic, service is prompt and not at all intrusive. Ginger chicken or lamb are top recommendations and the tandoori roti are fab. A real hot flannel and a carnation for every female diner are the end to a lovely evening. My recommendation - walk on to the Slubbers Arms for the best pint of Tim Taylor's Golden Best afterwards and put your carnation somewhere to cheer up the neighbourhood on your way.

I cannot praise Shama enough!!!! I live locally which is convenient for frequent and regular visits. Staff are really friendly and they really look after you. Watch out for the comedian! Dining at Shama is an experience in it's self.

Had a wonderful relaxing night out, bar area separate from eating area so can have a drink before and after meal. Staff very friendly and polite, and the food was mouth watering. All in all a good experience!! Bit of a dark setting though not good lighting!
