This place does excellent, truly tender Lamb Shank if your anywhere near you gotta try.

After looking around for at least over an hour I was lucky enough to find Shikara, however despite turning up late I was lucky enough to be served. The food was very tasty especially chicken madras I still have the taste in my mouth the Daal was nicely done with garlic it was nice and thick. It's probably the only Indian between Sloane Square to West Brompton.Worth paying a visit.

8 of us visited Shikara while visiting London. Excellent food, good selection of food and drinks. One of us had phaal (extremely) hot which was cooked with a rare chilli niga mirch (cobra of chilli) we enjoyed it very much, however our friend who had phaal did regret following morning.

After a visit to this restaurant this evening i think it wouldn't be right to write few lines about this eat-out. I went visited with my partner for the very first time. The restaurant was half empty as the world cup season and the whether hits red but they had 6/7 waiters and waitresses to serve customers. They were extremely helpful and smart I found it a bit unusual in my experience. We were served promptly and efficiently. The service was outstanding as well as the food. Its hard to describe overall this place is outstanding.

My friend and I visited Shikara last week. We had the 4 course special. We had booked our table for 8pm and the place was rather quiet but by 9pm the place had a real buzz without being too intrusive. All linen, cutlery and glasses were clean. The music was perfect and at the correct volume. Even though the restaurant isn? non-smoking the air conditioning was really effective and so didn? taint the evening in the slightest. The choice of food was impressive and you could choose whether your food was cooked in ghee or olive oil. We both had a hard time deciding what to order. Eventually when we did order the timings of one course after another were perfect and the food - so good. There was both quality and quantity. Each mouthful was well appreciated. I had the duck which was very succulent and tender and my friend had the Butter Murg and that too was flavoursome without drying out the chicken. There was so much food we couldn? finish it all. The service was polite without being too oppressive so all in all a lovely night.

visited this restaurant on a weekend break after reading previous reviews - must say was not disappointed at all - the food was superb and extremely reasonable - starters main courses and wine for four and all for less than £100.00!!! in particular we would like to comment on the attentiveness (without being obtrusive) and courtesy of the staff. a re-visit on our next girly weekend would definitely be a must!!!
