I recently dined at Sidneys with my parents. The food was to die for and the staff were very welcoming and efficient. I would recommend Sidneys to anyone!

Sidneys is one of the finest restaurants in the north East no wonder it is only one of three restaurants in the North East in the michelin guide with an award.
it is not pretentious in any way the decor is simple but cosy, the staff are very friendly yet unobtrusive and the food well the food is excellent with daily specials from down the fish quay at north sheilds and a great value lunch and early evening menu sidneys is a must.

Well we cannot recommend this place to anyone. For a start, it is more like a works
canteen than a 'Restaurant'. I am surprised
you even list it! Have a look at their
web site and wonder why they do not show the
dining area...? We paid 11.50 each for a
main course of turbot, spinach and new pots.
and we are still looking for the spinach. The
portions would not have filled a tablespoon.
It was the meanest portion of fish we have
ever been served ! The snack was a total
non-event. There's more we could add -
but if you want to find a corner cafe serving
fish and chips, you have it here. But you can get the same much cheaper at the fish and
chippy down the road from this place. Others should be warned !

Some good ideas on what was a seriously limited menu and the food was quite tasty. Very slow service and the waiting staff did not appear particularly knowledgeable about the food they were serving.

Sidneys is one of my favourite restaurants (Blackfriars little sister). The food never fails to be of the highest standard and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The place itself is small and cosy and you could sit for hours enjoying the amazing food.
