About Spoon World Buffet and Bar

Spoon World Buffet and Bar first opened in Chatham in 2012 and now has branches in Ipswich, Portsmouth and Basildon, housed within the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Each follows the same successful formula of providing diners with a huge choice of dishes and cuisines from around the world at one fixed price. You will not go hungry at Spoon! There’s a choice of Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Italian, Carvery and Kebab as well as a selection of Desserts. And live cooking stations include Teppanyaki, Pizza, Pancakes and Roasts. Spoon is fully licensed and is open from 5pm weekdays and 12 noon at weekends.

Visited Spoons at Basildon to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Food was nice, good amount of choice, no complaints in that respect. Staff have no people skills whatsoever. From the front desk, to being shown to our table, to staff replenishing food, there was minimal interaction. No smiles, barely any eye contact - we didn’t feel welcomed at all. And don’t expect a “thank you” or “goodbye” when you leave either. We dont plan on visiting again. They just want you to pay your money, eat your food and leave.

I went there yesterday evening for a meal spent over £80 all my food was cold the chef that cooked my steak didn't have any clue on food hygiene and sneezing over my steak cooking I was 26 minutes asked for refund manager was so rude tried to offer me half a refund which i was not going to accept the manager then called police I eventually got my full refund after all the drama with the manager never again will I be going back over priced for the food and service u get

Great restaurant with an amazing selection of food. My family and I loved the value for money and certainly left feeling full up. The staff were so friendly. My Grandkids enjoyed their treat and really enjoyed themselves.

Food always plentiful fresh and hot always replenishing when it's getting low, staff always clearing plates away quickly ,but I must say this the toilets need attention not very clean smelly and I don't think they get checked ie loads of toilet paper on floor some toilets that havnt been flushed I personally staff are not going in and checking them and the floors and toilet doors need a good clean seem very sticky these are the ladies dread to think what the mens are like

Really lovely food, although disappointed there was no kebab and chocolate fountain not working, also the mens toilets are terrible very dirty and floors filthy. We will visit again but not in a hurry.
